Retreat Days

Good Morning and a very Happy Easter to you all. I've been up early today despite being shattered after a full on day at the studio yesterday for my Retreat Day. This week I have welcomed 20 ladies to my retreat days, 8 on Wednesday and 12 on Saturday. This is the first time I have been able to offer a midweek Retreat Day and I am looking forward to arranging more.

As it is Easter this week I just had to make sure there was a little Easter treat for my ladies and my lovely friend and downline Anna popped over and helped me make these little treats. They contain a Malteser chocolate bunny. Thank you Anna.

Here is my table all set up for Wednesday's session. We started at 10 and were supposed to run to 7 but we didn't manage to last that long!
The ladies all received a generous goody bag containing the Botanical Gardens stamps, dies and papers AND the Botanicals SAB stamp set, plus card and accessories to complete the projects.
When the ladies arrived I had hot drinks and pastries waiting for them. The day includes Brunch, Lunch and Afternoon Tea, provided by my caterer Jayne.
On the Saturday I changed the flowers around. I LOVE roses and I enjoyed popping these out on the tables to make it look pretty!
We also had a birthday girl in the house on Saturday as Gillian had celebrated her 60th birthday the previous weekend so we just had to make a little fuss of her and I made her this card and got these roses for her.
I was so busy talking and distracting my ladies that I barely took any photos but I did manage to take one of the cakes we had for Afternoon Tea. Gorgeous Victoria Sponge, Coffee and Walnut and of course, Scones with cream and jam!
I will share the projects we made over the next couple of days. If you would like details on my future retreats then please just message me on thepaperhavenleeds@gmail.com

Paper Haven Retreat Day

Hello there. Apologies for the lack of blogging for two days! One reason was that I was super busy with preps for my Retreat Day yesterday and the other reason was I was saving the makes the share with you after the Retreat. You may or may not know that I have a little sideline called Paper Haven Craft Retreats which I have been running since 2013. I run a full weekend retreat in September each year (places available for 2016) but I also run a day retreat in March and November for my customers who don’t want to commit to a full weekend! Yesterday was my November Retreat Day which I ran at our local cricket club. My lovely Dad went and borrowed 8 tables from the local church for me and went to pick them up at 8.30 on Saturday morning, I was so grateful - thanks Dad. I gave my ladies a lot more space to craft this time and although it meant there was less room elsewhere in the room, they had plenty of room for their crafting.
Here are the tables all set up ready for the ladies. Can you spot the lovely blue snowflakes on the bags? I saw them in a lovely shop in Brussels and just had to have them for my ladies.

As usual I had all my displays set up...
.... and my classes are now booking for 2016!
The ladies all hard at work.
This was the first project in the morning. A little bit frenzied sharing all the stamps around but worthwhile once it’s in the frame! This is Louise’s gorgeous make.
A lovely lady Jane, who does the catering for the Cricket Club kept us fed and watered all day. We had Brunch, Lunch and then Afternoon Tea
In the afternoon we made some Christmas Bunting and then we made 4 cards to finish the day. Here is one of Louise’s which I loved!
Soon it was time to clear up and I got all this ready for Mr K to help me to the car! Until next time!
Thanks to all my ladies who attended. My next one is Saturday 19th March 2016. Full details will follow OR you could give my Facebook Page a LIKE

Paper Haven Retreat 2015

Good Morning! I have had a FAB time at my Weekend Crafting Retreat but there is nothing like coming home to your own bed and I have slept so well for the last couple of nights, as I am sure have all my ladies!

I thought I would share details from our retreat over the next couple of days including the projects and the fun we had!

I love planning and running this weekend but it’s a lot of hard work and lots of prep time, not to mention how much room it takes up in my craft room! Here is my room on Thursday evening just before we loaded the car.
And here is it after! Benji is wondering where everything has gone!
I borrowed Mr K’s new estate car for the weekend and put all the back seats down! There was just enough room for one of my ladies who I collected on the way.
After a few initial problems with the room not being set up as requested, it was soon time to set up the goody bags and little welcome gifts.
These cute hessian bags went down very well with my ladies. They contained items they needed for the weekend. In the little brown paper bags I had wrapped up a couple of little Molton Brown toiletries (my faves) which always go down well!
The tables were stocked with lots of chocolate to keep them going over the weekend!
Last year I spent a lot of time wandering around chatting (which I still did this year) but the girls told me I had to bring something to do this year as I was distracting them! Ha ha! So I brought some Christmas projects to work on.
On the Saturday evening 2 of the lovely ladies gave me this GORGEOUS suitcase filled with pamper products and 2 Freddos (they found out I am partial to a sneaky Freddo!). I was blown away by their generosity and truly touched by their kindness, thank you girls.
A group of 5 of my ladies travelled together in this mini-bus which they hired, so they had room for all their belongings. They originally hired a large people carrier and were surprised when it turned out to be so big!
Good job really with all this lot to take back home!
My boot wasn’t as full as on the way their of course! So much so that I was able to give Margaret a lift to the train station.
We just had the best time this weekend and I am already scheduling next years event in, watch this space for details or drop me an email to register your interest.

Paper Haven Day Retreat

Good Morning! Sorry for the lack of blog yesterday, I was on the go from 8am yesterday morning and I got home at 8.15pm last night. I was running my Paper Haven Retreat day which was supposed to go on until 9pm but the ladies did their projects very speedily and we were all very tired by the end of the evening too! Here is the room at about 9.30 in the morning just before my ladies arrived.
And of course I had plenty of makes on display too
My guests got a goody bag containing a generous amount of Stampin Up goodies to use throughout the day. I also made them a little treat box as their place setting but I don’t think anyone looked inside to see what was in!!! It’s a little Lindt bunny for Easter!
I will share the projects with you this week but here is the box of one of the mornings projects made by Rebecca
The ladies come for the crafting projects but also they come for the lovely food that we have catered for us! Have to say the cakes this year were rather large! We didn’t want to cut into them!
This is our lovely evening buffet spread made by the lovely Jean from Tastebuds.
And soon it was time to pack up and go home!
I will be running another All Day Retreat in the run up to Christmas so watch this space!

Thank you to those who are continuing to place Online Orders for my Hostess Code Club. So far there are well over £100 in Hostess spends to share between the ladies and I am looking forward to selecting gifts to send out to you.

Today is the last day to order on my Online Store (min £20) using the code  9RZYSMCW . I will be closing the order at 7pm this evening.

You can find out more about how this Online Code Club works HERE and look forward to something extra in the post from me!
