Last Celebrations

As I write this I have just got back from my first Stamp a Stack of 2015. I had 12 lovely ladies join me in icy conditions to make 12 cards each. Thank you to the ladies for braving the conditions to come to class. I am intending to have a lie in tomorrow morning so I thought I would schedule my blog.

Todays card is the last one in the Celebrate Today set I did. This is by far the lengthiest make that I did and I have often shared this style of card. I feel it can be adapted for many different occasions.
The spotty backgrounds were created using the spots designed to be stamped on the balloons! Love getting more uses from my stamps!
I really enjoyed putting this together but I did faff about deciding just exactly where each balloon would go and what I would stamp on them. Piece of advice when using the Photopolymer sets! Make sure you tidy your stamps away AS SOON AS YOU TAKE THEM OFF THE BLOCK! The word Celebrate has not been seen since my little session making these cards! EEEEEkkkkk
Here are all the makes together. It’s amazing what you can come up with when you have limited supplies
Have a great weekend.

More Celebrating!

Hello there! Did you get snow yesterday? It was so weird here all day long, bright blue skies one minute and then total white out the next and then back to blue bright skies!! Hopefully tomorrow the bright sun will blast whats left of it in time for my Stamp a Stack event this evening.

So here is another make from the set I made last week. Same products and colours as yesterdays as I wanted to make a co-ordinating set.
The Happy and the Birthday stamps are separate so it allows you a little bit more flexibility when using them. I used them on this card to create a background.
One piece of advice I would give you when using these stamps is to use some kind of mat underneath the card you are stamping on. The stamps are large solid stamps and are in photopolymer and there is not as much cushioning on these stamps so you need to create the cushioning elsewhere. I used one of our piercing mats as a mat for stamping on (with some scrap paper on top of it of course).
Hope you fine this tip useful and I will share the last of the makes from this set tomorrow

Celebrate Today

Hi there! Yesterday I spent most of the day doing some work on my Project Life albums for my boys. I spent a few hours sorting and the documenting photos from our family holiday to Florida in 2007. It brought back so many lovely memories and the boys looked so small and cute. I will share my pages with you another day.

Last week I had a new stamp set delivered - Celebrate Today. This was one of those sets that I didnt think I needed and then I saw some fab makes and I realised what a useful set it would be for both mens and womens cards. Then later on I was flicking through our demonstrator leaflet that we get from Stampin Up every other month, called Impressions. I just loved the makes on these pages in the leaflet. This is just one of our little perks for being a demonstrator. If you fancy joining up and getting £130 worth of product for £99 then please do contact me for more info. I made one small card based on a card in the leaflet as you can see below and then this fired up my creativity and I made another 3 in the series, all to match. I will share the other 2 with you another day.
So here is the little basic card based on the sample in the leaflet, very easy to do in multiples. The colours I have used for this set are Pool Party, Pear Pizazz, Hello Honey and Basic Grey.
Here is another card I made to form part of my displays. The hardest part? Sorting the bakers twine, tying it to the balloons and then tying them all together.
This stamp set is amazing value at £23.95 for 17 stamps or you can upgrade and get the matching framelit dies for a total cost of £32.95 so you don’t have cut those balloons out in a perfect circle!
I am now thinking up all the other colour combos that would be fab for these stamps. I will be back tomorrow with another make from this set.

Wedding Frame

Last week I decided I needed some more projects for my displays other than cards so I remembered I had 2 of these IKEA frames hanging around my craft room. I stamped a background with Something Lacy (a new fave) in Sahara Sand and then I wrapped some of the Lace Trim around, which is not very visible.
I mounted this onto some Sahara Sand card and then I stamped our initials using the new alphabet Sophisticated Serif. This was rolled out on the Big Shot using the Deco Label framelit dies and I added the & sign with the Perfect Prints die, using Glimmer Paper.
I think this would make a lovely table number or name (without the J & R obviously). The frame was only £2.25 I think.
Hope you like my little wedding project. Today I was supposed to be visiting a friend but the weather is horrendous and its forecast snow so we have postponed as she is half an hour away from me and I wouldn’t want to get stranded! I think I may declare the day as a Project Life day and do that all day long!
