Happy Birthday Lucy

Another card to add to my little box but get this, I don't need this one until March!!!!!!! I got the stamp as a Chrimbo pressie from Natalie and couldn't wait to ink her up and knew exactly who to make the card for !! One of Evan's little girlfriends!!!! He does have a couple!!!
You cannot see very clearly but her name has been all glittered with Stardust stickles!!!
I have coloured Tilda with Stampin Up Inkpads, I am getting used to this method now, and gradually improving (I think!). The colours used are Pretty in Pink for the clothing, Blush Blossom for the skin and Close to Cocoa for her hair.
The papers used are Sweet Always and the name has been stamped with the Big Deal alphabet and cut out, then stickled!
The number 6 is from the Schoolbook Serif Numbers set, I will get a lot of use out of this as I make a lot of kids birthday cards! Punched out with the 1 3/8 circle punch and then the Scallop Circle punch. Used the Scallop Edge punch and then Regal Rose grosgrain ribbon in one of my favourite type of bows!
I want to take this opportunity to wish all my lovely readers a very Happy New Year. 2008 has been a fab year for me with my Stampin Up!! I am very excited to continue this into 2009. Sale-a-bration starts tomorrow so please don't hesitate to contact me if you would like to make a purchase!!!
Don't forget also my offer for anyone wishing to sign up as a demonstrator. Please see my sidebar for details but you could earn 2 extra free sets of any value from the current catalogue!!!
Happy 2009!!

Mr & Mrs Anniversary card

My Mum and Dad have been married 36 years on a few weeks, here is the card I have made for them. It is made with the Mr & Mrs stamp set from Stampin Up. This was one of the free sets I earned recently for meeting my targets!!! I was a very happy bunny to get lovely freebies so thank you to everyone who is one of my customers!!!!! You are very much appreciated!
The card looks a bit pale on the screen. My Mum's favourite colour is lilac hence the colour scheme and I just know she will love the hat pin with beads threaded onto it!I have stamped the floral image randomly to create a background. I think there is something missing so I made add a bit of sparkle to the centres of some of the flowers.

Not long now until the big SALE-A-BRATION. I will be back soon with samples of cards with some of the sets you can earn FREE!!!!!!

Bye for now!

Simple Christmas Cards

I am really fed up of Christmas cards now!!! These are a few designs from my last batch of cards. All the cards were going in the post and as I had quite a few I wanted to make sure they didn't have any bulky embellishments on them!
Season of Joy stamp set and Holiday Treasures paper.
The next one is using the Die Cut trees from Craftwork Cards which I have blinged up with some Stickles! Sentiment is from Best Yet and the stars and the paper is from the I Wish Scrappin Kit.

Last one, again Holiday Treasures and Season of Joy set with Best Yet sentiment

Think I must have had a glass of wine when I took this photo as its all wonky!!
My little boy is poorly, he is really hot and full of cold, I am hoping he gets better for the big day on Thursday, he is just laid on sofa at moment!!!
Hoping to try and fit in Sketch Saturday card today!

Christmas Wrapping Stampin Up Style!

For the first time ever I seem organised this year!! Probably as I am at home all the time now and not juggling jobs and everything!
I decided to make my own wrapping paper for my families presents so I bought a couple of rolls of parcel paper from Asda, at 47p a roll!!! Then I stamped all over it with Season of Joy set in Real Red and Chocolate Chip
Here is a close up of the pressies and you can see I have also made my own gift tags using the Tags for All stamp set which I now intend to use every Christmas!! Colour combos for the tags are Real Red, Ruby Red, Choc Chip and Old Olive.

My hubby thought they look very classy!!!!

On your first Christmas Isabelle

I went to meet one of my friends yesterday and her gorgeous baby, Isabelle!!! Remember the card I made a couple of weeks back with the Daddy with the bald baby head!!!
Well this is a card for the scrummy Isabelle for her 1st Christmas!!! It is a large 8x8 card from Craftwork cards which I am really enjoying using at the moment, very good for special cards!
The background is DCWV Nana's Nursery and is very sparkly, I scalloped the edge with the scallop edge punch and stamped her name with my new Schoolbook Serif Alphabet from Stampin Up!. I have coloured the image with SU ink pads and the colour scheme is Pretty in Pink and Certainly Celery, ribbons are these colours too!! Flowers are by Prima and buttons are SU!
I would have loved a card like this for my baby at Christmas so hope Isabelle's Mummy likes it too!!!

Merry Christmas Martha

I have made this card for my friends little girl who is 2. My friend Natalie came round on Wednesday and we exchanged Christmas gifts! Natty got me 3 gorgeous new Tildas!! I used one straight away on this card. Its not a Christmas Tilda but I thought it would be OK. Not very Christmassy colours either but there you go. I am sure little Martha will like it!

Martha's name has been stamped straight onto the paper with my new set, Schoolbook Serif alphabet!! Love it already!!
I am entering this card into the Cute Card Thursday challenge which is an Open Theme, card for any occasion!

Happy Birthday Adam!

One of my little boys best friend is 6 this week and it was his party yesterday. Like Evan, he is Mr Men mad so I used some of the paper I had left over from Evan's card! His favourite is Mr Tickle and we bought him a Mr Tickle cuddly toy and also took him for a visit to see my mate Anna and her daughter Sophie in a fab production of Scrooge yesterday!!

It was a nice break from making blasted Christmas cards!!! The card base is SU Tempting Turquoise and I have stamped his name in Only Orange ink using the Big Deal alpha which I have used so much!!! Number 6 is stamped with See D's stamp using Tempting Turquoise Ink and layered up using my circle punches.
I am hoping to be back with more cards tomorrow as I have made my family cards now!

My Jack in the Box!!!

On Thursday and Friday my little boy appeared in his annual school production. This Year it was The Toymakers Workshop and Evan was a Jack in the Box. He was desperate to play that part so was really chuffed when he got picked!!!!
It was very cute although he struggled getting in and out of his box a few times as it was very high!!!
Here he is in his dungarees, how cute!!! I was a very proud Mummy, he sang his heart out!!!

My eldest son was also in his Year groups production of Scrooge, I did get some photos of him but there are other children in them and I don't think its fair to publish them on here without asking permission from their parents, sad to have to be like that I know!!
He was fab too and said his lines really clear and he really enjoyed his this year, he got quite a buzz from performing!!! (ooooo he make take after me after all!!)
Bye for now, cards to show tomorrow!

Male cards

I was asked to make a male 40th birthday card in a rush last night. I don't know about you but the thing that takes me the longest in cardmaking is deciding on the design. I know have a few "stock" designs in my mind these days and if someone asks for a certain card and they need it quick, I use one of these designs. A bit lazy I know but sometimes needs must!!!
So here is a card for Phil who will be 40!!
Stampin' Up! Choc Chip designer paper for the background with the 40 cut out on the Cricut with the Doodletype font using Really Rust and Close to Cocoa cardstock. Beers are from the fabulous Cheers to You set and coloured with my Su markers and added some liquid pearls on top for the froth!. Wording done on my PC and added some SU buttons with linen thread tied through.

Very simple yes, but not many blokes like fussy I figured!!!

More Christmas cards

I have made a number of these style cards this year, just varied the colours and papers to create a different effect. Stamps are from Season of Joy with sentiment from Best Yet (a very popular hostess set) and one of my favourite colour combos for this Christmas, Ruby Red, Old Olive and Chocolate Chip! Of course the Holiday Treasures papers too!!
I have added some stickles to the petals if you look carefully.

I have today posted the last of my wedding orders that are going out this year so I am going to have a little breather from weddings and have fun playing with my Stampin Up sets. Dare I say I have some that are un inked!!!!!

Christmas Cards

Why do we leave it till the last minute to do our Christmas cards??? Its the same date every year so there is no excuse really, but it just seems to catch up on me!!!

My mission on Sunday was to make 10 cards and use up some of my ever growing pile of scraps and offcuts of papers.

Here are my attempts
All the cards are made using the Dashing papers and a combo of Real Read, Old Olive and Mellow Moss. I made 10 but each one is unique and I have stamped over some of the design with the Season of Joy set and the sentiment is from the hostess set, Best Yet

Hope you like them, I managed to get 10 made in about and hour!

Mission accomplished!!!

Hugs for now

Happy Sunday!

Happy Sunday everyone!!
I have had a lovely weekend so far!!!! Yesterday some fab ladies came to my Christmas class at my house. We had lots of fun and festive spirit making a gift box, bag and tags and wrapping paper. Here is the box that I made! I know have 4 of these for demo's I have done so they will come in very handy for teacher gifts!!!! Thanks to Vicky for bringing a box of chocs!!! They came in very handy to fill the boxes!!!
Below is my card for the Sketch Saturday challenge. I really enjoy these sketches but have missed the last couple of weeks. I had to make a quick card this morning for my little boys friend. He was going to the party at 11 so the Sketch challenge came in very handy - thanks!!!
The colour combo is Green Galore, Tempting Turquoise and I have used the Rainbow Sherbert papers from SU which are really growing on me for boys cards. They are double sided so I used the thin strip turned over to place underneath the ribbon. Ribbon is SU and sentiment from Craftwork Cards and image is Stampendous.

I also wanted to take this opportunity to thank the people who have given me blog awards!!! I know I am really bad and I never add them on here!! At the moment I have trouble making cards and uploading them let alone blog awards so a huge sorry. I really do appreciate them and all your kind comments on my projects!!
If you are still pondering about becoming a Stampin Up demonstrator please get in touch with me about joining my team!! 5 lovely ladies have taken advantage of my special offer since the end of October and have earned themselves a fantastic free stamp set of any value from the catalogue. For more information on becoming a dempnstrator please get in touch asap at julie.kettlewell@ntlworld.com
My lovely hubby has baked a Christmas cake whilst I was out at the party, yum yum, feeling more festive already!!

Such much to do, so little time!!

Every year I think I will get more organised!! I have to a certain extent but still have loads of Christmas cards to make, mainly for family members.

I am holding my Christmas class tomorrow so have been busily getting ready for that and I held one on Tuesday night which was lovely and even lovlier due to the gorgeous home made mince pies that Elaine had made!! She is a star and I love going to her house for the classes!!!! The next one is Cupcake Class (hmmmm could there be home made cupcakes!!!

We have also had a lot of snow!!!!!! My boys school was closed yesterday so Evan had a little play outside, whilst my eldest had to stay in as he is poorly!!

I love the snow to look at!! I just hate getting wet and cold!!!
Here is a little selection of some of the Christmas cards I have been making, all very simple and quick to make as time is of the essence. All made with the Dashing Papers and Old Olive and Real Red combo!!

Thats it for now, loads more to do!!

Special 100th Birthday Card

I had a rush card order yesterday for a lady who often asks me to make cards, it was for a 100th birthday card for a female but she didnt want a large 100 on it!! Normally if I do a special age card I make the number the focus of the card but I appreciaite some people don't like to be reminded how old they are!!!

Well luckily I had been to a fab workshop with Julie Hickey at Craftwork Cards on Saturday and they have these new size cards which are 8 x 8 inches, perfect for more special occasions or for when a lot of people need to sign a card.
The card I made is inspired by the one we did with Julie on Saturday.

Here it is closed up and tied

Then unwrapped

And I have decorated inside with a discreet With Love on your 100th Birthday!!!!

The papers I have used are Tea and Crumpets with So Saffron, Pretty in Pink, Always Artichoke and Choc Chip accessories. Card blank and wrap from Craftwork Cards, together with sentiments. I hope you like it and more importantly I hope the birthday girl does!!!

For any people local to me in West Yorkshire I have 3 places left on my Christmas workshop this Saturday afternoon, please get in touch with me at julie.kettlewell@ntlworld.com of you are interested in coming along! The cost is £7, please see previous posts for details!

Cupcake Crazy

Today is my Sister's birthday! I made this card last night! I was so organised with the Auntie card I made a few weeks ago but forgot to make a card from us.

The colour combo is Pumpkin Pie, Regal Rose, Close to Cocoa and Chocolate Chip. I have used my Crazy for Cupcakes set and coloured the cupcakes in with my markers. Papers are from the Sweet Always selection. I have added the ever useful mini message from Craftwork Cards and added a single cupcake.
Next Saturday I am holding a Christmas Craft Event at my house near Leeds. Please e mail me on julie.kettlewell@ntlworld.com for more information. Below is a reminder of what we will be making in the Bags, Tags and Boxes class. The class costs £7 which includes all materials and refreshments and you will be able to order Stampin' Up! Products on the day.
I have had a little treat out today to Craftwork Cards workshop with the lovely Julie Hickey. I had a great morning and we made some lovely cards and I bought Julie's new book which is full of inspiration!!

All in the Family

When I saw this set in the new catalogue I was so excited!!! The All in the Family set is so versatile as you can make a card for anyone with this set!!! I made the Auntie card a few weeks ago and stamped a minature version of my sons with my sister. Then a couple of weeks ago I stamped a Brother card for my little boy and added two boys on the card.
Here is another way of using the set, this is a New Baby card with a difference!! Now I have to tell you I was in a rush to make this card so its not quite as fancy as I would of liked it to be but my friend liked it. The funny thing is, her husband is bald but there were no "mens heads" in the set that didn't have hair on!!!! So I had to use the babies head for the Daddy and mask off the little curl on top!!!
The houses in the background are from the Neighbourhood wheel which I used for the first time and coloured in (very quickly and a bit messy!) with my Earth Elements Watercolour Wonder Crayons. Paper is Sweet Always and used my scallop edge punch.
It was nice to have a break from Christmas cards to be honest!!!

The colour combination is So Saffron, Old Olive, Close to Cocoa and Chocolate Chip.
I have used the Rose is a Rose set for the main rose image and the leaves and also the little flower as the background. The sentiment is from the Level 1 Hostess set called Best Yet. The papers are Tea and Crumpets.
If you are thinking of taking the plunge and signing up to become a Stampin Up demonstrator, please drop me a line. Marker and Ink Spot club!

Happy Sunday everyone!

Gosh no sooner do I fill one club or share then I get a request to do another one!! I can't keep up with you all !!! LOL

I have had a request to set up an Su Marker and Stampin Spot club.

This club requires 4 people (I already have 1) and only runs for 4 months.

Each month I will order the Full Marker set and a set of each of the Stampin Spot mini ink pads (12 in each set). This will be divided between the 4 people and you will receive 12 Markers from the same colour family and a set of Stampin Spots from the same colour family as your markers! (With me so far?)

Now because the monthly total of orders I place will be over £15o we will qualify for a free Level 1 stamp set and also £15 to spend in the catalogue. So each of the months 1 person will get these benefits.

When the club finishes you should all have the full 48 markers in their storage container and 4 sets of Stampin Spots (please note there is only one set in the photo!
The markers are perfect for colouring in your stamped images aswell as using them to colour directly onto your stamps. The Stampin Spots are great for inking up your stamps and because of their size perfect for edging around your cardstock.
The cost of the club will be £45 a month including postage/packing or if you live locally and £42 a month if you are happy to collect from me!
For more information or to book a place please contact me on julie.kettlewell@ntlworld.com
Thanks

Welcome Little One!

I have had this set a couple of weeks and not had a play yet so as there are a lot of my friends having babies recently it was the perfect time to use it!!

I have CASED this card from the Stampin' Up! catalogue, see page 29. I find the catalogue a great source of inspiration for card layouts as well as being great to flick through while having a cuppa!!!

The colour combo is Bashful Blue, Whisper White and Close to Cocoa.

The stamp set is Nursery Necessities and I have used the Nursery Letters wheel, trimmed with Bashful Blue Double Stitched Grosgrain and used the Scallop Edge Punch.

Hope you like!

***** If you are still pondering on whether to sign up as a demo please get in touch asap, the offer on my side bar is still active, a free stamp set if you sign up with me before the end of the year. Don't worry about doing parties and workshops, I have members in my team who are simply with SU as "hobby demos". If you would like more information please contact me on julie.kettlewell@ntlworld.com *****

Sketch Saturday

Here is my card for the Sketch Saturday challenge, its a bit pale as I had to use the flash!!
THe papers are my lovely Dashing papers which are retired from SU but available "while stocks last". Not sure how much longer that will be as people seem to love them!!
The stamp set I have used is Wondrous Gift and the Image and sentiment are from the same set. You can get this set free on top of normal hostess benefits if you have a party with me in November or December!
Colour combo is Old Olive and Real Read, no brown in sight which makes a change!!!
I am hoping to hold a Christmas tag, box and bag class on Saturday 6th December at my house which is just outside Leeds. There will be a small fee which will cover all materials and refreshments.
For more information please mail me on julie.kettlewell@ntlworld.com

Lots of thank yous!!!

Apologies for not being around much lately, the birthday celebrations tired me out and then I felt ill for a couple of days!!! You know you are poorly when you don't even fancy making a card!!!!

Today is a day of thank yous!
Firstly I would like to thank 3 lovely ladies who have recently joined my Stampin Up team, they are Steph, Sarah and Anne. I am really pleased you have become part of the Stampin Up family and I look forward to getting to know you all loads more!!!!!
I would also like to thank my lovely customers who keep coming back for more products!!!! In particular my lovely Stampers 10 ladies and the people who have been part of the Ribbon and Paper Shares I have done.
Thanks to all!!

This card is a very very simple card but I had 8 to make the same so I kept it simple. The card is only 9.5 cm square and is to say thanks to another bunch of lovely ladies.
The colour scheme is Pumpkin Pie, Regal Rose and Chocolate Chip, the papers are Sweet Always and the stamps are from the Level 2 hostess set, Spring Solitude.
Now the next card was a card I was lucky enough to receive this morning from my fantastic downline Steph!!! Steph doesn't have a blog, I think she is scared to show her cards!!!!!!
OMG this card is so gorgeous I have been admiring it all day long. Steph sent me this and 2 stamps, how kind of you Steph, you are a star!!
My crafty friend Diane came round this afternoon and saw this on my table and she couldn't get in the kitchen quick enough to have a proper look at it!!
Steph, you need a blog to share all these lovely cards with the world!!

Signing off now for a night of crafting with some of my new SU stuff!!!
