Monster Birthday Invitation

Hello there. Back to normal today, my boys are back at school and I am busy working away!!! I have also got lots of Stampin Up training this week! 2 sessions with my team at my house and then some Stampin Up run training in Leeds on Saturday!! How exciting that Stampin Up are running the training in my home city!!!!!!! Got lots of Jems attending!!

So here I am with another child themed project. I just LOVE Make a Monster! I wasnt really sure at first, I will be honest. I thought it might be a bit fiddly but I love it! I am a huge Monsters Inc fan and a Mike Wasowski fan (I do a mean impression - ask me next time you see me!)

So this is a little pocket styled invite. I was trialling these out for my Nephew's 2nd Birthday as he loves the SU catalogue and the Monster page is one of his favourites!! However my sister informed me today he is having a pirate party!! :(

Inside I have used the handy invitation stamp from Cheers and Wishes and stamped a couple more monsters! I didnt make them hold hands on purpose!! It was a happy accident!!

I just love this colour combo for boys. Pacific Point, Old Olive and Real Red.

I am going out tonight and really looking forward to it. One of my theatre friends has just left drama school last summer and got his first professional job in Buddy the musical - as Buddy!!! Gosh I am so proud to know him so I am looking forward to seeing him in action - Oh Boy!!!

School Days album

Hello there and happy Sunday to you!!!! Only 2 days left to get your hands on those free stamp sets, please get in touch with me if you have an order!!!!

Recently I have been making lots of baby and child themed projects as I am having a stall at an event at my son's school. I am trying to spread the word with the parents at school to try and get more people to my scrapbook and card classes so with that in mind I created this fab album (well I think its fab!!)

This is based on an album we made at the first ever Stampin Up convention. Well I say, "we made" in the loosest term as I never finished mine at convention as I was too busy gassing!!!!! So I put it to the back of my mind and then I have customised it for this school days album.

I have found all the photos of the activities that Evan did in his first Reception year and I must say I enjoyed looking back on the photos like it was yesterday and not over 3 years ago!!!

The papers used are from the Playdate range and I have also used the Quick accents which are adhesive die cuts and are perfect for scrapbooking.

I hope you like this. I am going to make a similar one for a baby theme and also a wedding theme.

I will be running a class on this on Saturday 7th May, in Pudsey. The cost is £15 and includes a full pack of the Quick Accents (worth £7.50). Please mail me if you are interested.

Baby Door Hanger

I have been making a lot of baby and children themed items lately as I am exhibiting at my sons school soon and wanted to showcase our products to appeal to parents.
I saw a gorgeous door hanger on Caroline Skinner's blog and had to have a go at making my own.

I used some thick card double layered and covered with papers from the Nursery Suite papers and some gorgeous Pretty in Pink satin ribbon. I also used some chipboard which was a new purchase for me and I had a bit of messy play by covering it with white craft ink and then adding some Dazzling Diamonds glitter!

I used the Spiral punch on the edge for a nice border (Shazza in my team was asking about this punch so here you go Shaz, here is an example for you!!)

I hope you like my door hanger, I must admit I love it and I cant stop looking at it. I am hoping its the door hanger I love and NOT me being broody!!!!!

Back tomorrow with more baby themed projects

Happy Birthday Sarah-Jane

Today it is my lovely Sarah-Jane's birthday!! Happy Birthday SJ!!!! I have known SJ for coming up to 2.5 years now and its all thanks to Stampin Up that we have become such good friends, as well as me of course being her upline!!! Even though we live very far apart and every week I wished she lived nearer, we have such a good friendship that distance doesnt matter!!!!!

Anyway enough of me being sentimental!! Here is the card!!

I have made an A5 card which is unusual for me but I wanted to fit her name on the bunting!!! The colour combo is Wild Wasabi, Pretty in Pink, Baja Breeze and Perfect Plum

The stamp set is of course Party this Way again, I really love this set - such good value! The alphabet set is Just Perfect!
I have added some balloons and some fine strips of card as the string!

Bit of an arty farty angle and I have also decorated inside!

Hope you have a lovely birthday SJ and that Neil and the kids have spoilt you!!!!! Have a great time at training on Saturday!

Monster Birthday Celebration

On Sunday Evan went to yet another birthday party so of course a boy themed card was in order!! I love Make a Monster, its one of my favourite sets in the new catalogue and I havent used it for a few weeks

I teamed it with the Celebrations papers as I still had them out from my Scrapbook Club prep the other day. I also used the Celebrations Quick Accents to run across the middle of the card, really quick and very effective.

The star punch came in handy as usual for male cards but it got 2 uses, for the stars and for the bunting too!!

Colour combo is Pacific Point, Real Red, Old Olive and Bashful Blue

The sentiment is from the Party This Way set and the number is of course from the Schoolbook Serif numbers set.

It was a hit with Evan so I am sure it was a hit with his friend too!!!!

Good Luck Chris

Today lovely Chris in our team of Jems goes into hospital for a knee replacement. LAst week I asked all the girls if they could send her a card so I am hoping she has lots of lovely cards to wish her well and let her know we are thinking of her!! Hope it all goes well Chris, cant wait to see you soon!!!

I have used a Colour Combo of Concord Crush and Crumb Cake (all the C's) and made quite a bit of a vintagey card. Not really my usual style but I was really pleased with it

I made the flower with the Fancy Flower punch and a ribbon rose from the In Colour ribbon, I still have a couple of shares left! The sentiment is from Sincere Salutations.

I also used the Medallion stamp and plenty of inking around the edges!
And inside I used a sentiment from the Hopeful Thoughts set

Thats all for today, will be back tomorrow with a Monster of a birthday card

Dancing Birthday Card

Good morning! Yipppeee got a bit of a lie in today as its the school holidays here this week.

Yesterday after my dance lesson I went for a couple of drinks at a party for my dance partner's special birthday. He is 50 on Tuesday but he still only looks 40!!!

A special card was of course in order so I got out my ballroom stamp (sadly Stampin Up dont do a ballroom one!) and made a large 8x8 inch card.

The papers are from the Nursery Suite but this card shows how they dont have to be for babies!!!! The colour combo is Pear Pizazz, Baja Breeze and Early Espresso

I have of course used the Schoolbook Serif alphabet which you could win if you enter my Special Draw, see this post HERE
I love the Star punch for male cards, just adds a really quick accent!

Bit of bling on the bottom of the dress to finish it all off!!!

Pete loved his card and I had a lovely couple of hours. Hope you like it too!!

A BLISSful day!

Hello there
WOW what a horrible foggy day today, yesterday was so lovely and bright and today is just bleurgh!!!!
I had the most lovely day yesterday - crafting with my downline Shazza for most of the day and then last night I attended a workshop with some of my lovely regular ladies - waving hello and a big hello to Andrea who is one of my new customers!!
For my demo I showed them this bag below which is like the one our lovely Chris made at training in January. The ladies loved the bag and I gave it away as a Door Prize which some little Stampin Up treats inside!
This is the card that all the ladies made. My fabby downline Jeannette made a stunning version in Not Quite Navy, its CASED from Dawn Olchefske's blog and I did it in Concord Crush with some Crumb Cake.
Here is the set together with the gift bag.

I then showed the ladies how they can "enhance" their card by adding another butterfly in Crumb Cake and some gorgeous Rhinestones.

And because last night I was focussing on the In Colours I showed them the same card in Blushing Bride

And also in Poppy Parade

I hope you like my projects and thank you to the lovely ladies from last night.
If you would like me to come and demo at a workshop for you and you are in the Leeds/Bradford area then please do get in touch with me. You can earn free stamps and have a lovely girlie evening!!
