Tuesday Club GIft Bag

Hello there! I've just got back from taking Evan to school and ooooo its is cold and frosty out there!!! Hope that heating is on full belt in the church hall tonight for my Stamp a Stack!!

Here is another project from Tuesday nights class. I have decorated a plain brown gift bag with the Jolly Bingo Bits stamp set and some Snow Festival papers.

I was inspired to do the bow here from the back of the Seasonal Catalogue. I do think though because its in red it looks like a big pair of lips!!!!

We used the Owl Occasions stamp set to decorate a tag on the handle of the bag and some Gumball Green Stitched Grosgrain ribbon.

Right thats me off for the day. I have to finish my preps for tonights class and next weeks Team Christmas Party Night!!

Tuesday Club Paper Construction!

Hi there - Brrrrrrrrrrr it's a bit cold this morning and I am very thankful that Robin is on a day off today, so he can do the school run for me today!!

On Tuesday night it was all about Christmas, and in particular Christmas gift packaging. FIrst up was this cute gift box with a lavish paper bow on top! These Kraft Gift boxes are in our catalogue and come in a pack of 4  - flat packed - for £2.75. They are amazing and you can stamp on them, cover them in paper - just fab!

The bow was made from the Candlelight Christmas papers and was stuck to a band around the box so you can slide the band of without ruining the bow. We did have a laugh with this "paper construction" as it can be quite fiddly if you havent made one before!! Poor June had a bit of a wonky bow going on which caused great amusement!

The tag is made from scraps and the sentiment is from the Joyous Celebrations stamp set in the Seasonal Catalogue (page 7)

Hope you like our first project, I will be back with the second one tomorrow but for now I am going to do my preps for my Stamp a Stack event tomorrow evening!

New team member welcome pack!

Hi there and how are you? Can't believe its Wednesday already and we are nearly into December!!!!!!

Last week I had a lovely new demonstrator join our team - Mel! She is excited to begin her Stampin UP journey and I am very much looking forward to sharing this with her! Welcome to the gang Mel!!

Here is a photo of Mel's welcome pack. I do this for all my new team members to help get them off to a good start.

These fab grey notebooks are from Asda and they are great just to add a little decoration to, making them more personalised! I love to make lists so I always like to send a notebook!

I made a matching personalised card too using the Letter It alphabet stamp set and the Natural Composition papers.

Here is Mel's pack all packed up and ready to go! As you can see I have also included a bag from Convention, a colour chart, a getting started handbook and a set of sample cards.

I have 5 of these bags (different design though) to give away to the next 5 people who join my team!! Why not treat yourself for Christmas and buy the best present ever - your own Stampin Up business for only £99!!!

I also welcome new Demonstrators from our other European areas, France, Germany, Austria and the Netherlands! If you want to join a fun and experienced team please do get in touch!

See you tomorrow with a project from last nights class!

Proud!

What have you done today to make you feel proud??

Sorry for the non-craft related post but I wanted to share our very "proud" day on Sunday. Evan and I went to the first Qualifier for Blackpool 2013. As always its a really long day, we left the house at 8.15am and were home for 7.15pm!

Here is my boy (looking a bit tired) on the morning as the competition started. We tried something different this time and he danced with some of the teenage girl pupils instead of his teacher as he has been dancing with them a lot more recently. They were both really lovely with him.

Here he is with Megan whom he danced Jive with.

Dancing Jive, could that be a little smile? Happy to say Evan came 4th in Jive and has qualified in Latin for Blackpool - just need to get him qualified in Ballroom now!!

Happy with his 4th place trophy

We normally take my hubby Robin to the comps with us and he goes for drinks for us etc… but we "went solo" on this one and we were fine! Evan lasted the whole day without once saying the "b" word (bored!)

I had loads of dancing to do and was entered into the Sequence comp, Ballroom solos, Latin solos, Waltz couples, Cha Cha Cha couples and Adjudicators Choice.

We tried something a bit different this time and instead of myself and my partner Paul dancing with our teachers for our solos, we danced together! Was a bit of a weird feeling as you are dancing together and helping each other but you are also dancing against each other!! Happy to say though that the plan worked and Paul was 1st and myself 2nd out of 7 dancers in both the Quickstep and the Samba!!!

Happy people!!!

We were also 3rd in Couples Waltz, 1st in Couples Cha Cha Cha and amazingly we knocked out 5 couples to get through to the FInal of the Adjudicator Choice and came 3rd out of 6!! We could not stop laughing as we were the only "oldies" in the Final, the rest were teenagers!!!!!!

My trophy haul!!

Will be back with a craft related post tomorrow

Thanks

Greeting Card Kid Stamp a Stack

Hi there and happy Sunday to you!!! Yesterday I had a lovely afternoon with my scrapbooking ladies and my ornament ladies and a little bit of Strictly to finish the day off nicely!

I am sharing another card from our upcoming Stamp a Stack this coming Friday evening - couple of places left if you would like to attend! £15 to make 12 cards or FREE with an order of £45 on the night.

This card uses one of my favourite sets - Greeting Card Kids plus my favourite embossing folder - Northern Flurry. Did you know this was the top selling embossing folder in October and the 2nd top Big Shot item for October!!

The colours here are Pool Party and Very Vanilla. I have daubed the edges of the card with Crumb Cake to give it a vintagey/aged look. The little girl has been stamped in Early Espresso and coloured in with markers and blender pen and ink.

I ran the Crumb Caked dauber over the snowflakes to age these up too!

Added a little bit of Dazzling Details to the little girls coat, hat and scarf!

Hope you like this one, think its my fave from the set of 6 designs for the evening!!

See you soon

Comfort Cafe Scrapbooking

Hello and Happy Weekend! Today I have my Scrapbooking club plus 2 lovely ladies are coming to make the Christmas ornament so its busy busy!!!

I have been really organised this month and my layout was done by Monday and emailed to my ladies. We decided at the last class to use the Comfort Cafe papers as I fell in love with them when my talented downline Allie did a wonderful Inspiration Station with them (see below)

I wasnt sure which photos to use and then I found these comedy photos of my boys in the outdoor hot tub in Wales in 2011!! We have been to the same cottage 5 or 6 times and love it but this was the first year they had the hot tub and the boys christened it!! I have added the photo of the hills to show people how high up it was and how cold, wet and misty it was too!! The boys didnt care!!!

I cut the papers into various strips and gave them a good inking with the Crumb Cake ink and a sponge dauber. The word Welsh is from the Letter It alphabet and the Jacuzzi is from the new Simply Serif Mini Alphabet.

My ladies got 3 sheets of the papers included in their kit along with some Midnight Muse ribbon and some ribbon sliders from the Seasonal Catalogue

I wanted to create some "bubbles" so I used the circle punches to make them in various sizes.

You can see on the next photo just how bad the weather was.

I was really pleased with this bit of layering up. My ladies also got some of the Vintage trinkets included in their kit, which is where the safety pins came from

I hope you like my pages. I dont consider myself a scrapbooker by any means but I was pleased with these pages!

Stamp a Stack sneak peek!

Oh my goodness I completely forgot to blog this morning!!!Sorry folks!!!!

Here is a sneak peek of one of the cards we will be making at our last Stamp a Stack event of 2012 on Friday 30th November! If you would like to join us please do get in touch!

This card is CASED from a couple of places - firstly, the tag and the wonky tree is from a card demonstrated at our recent Convention and then I saw the rest of the card on Pinterest! What would I do without it!!!

The colours are based on the Snow Festival papers from the Seasonal Catalogue and I have punched these papers out with the Petite Pennants punch and layered them up. Lots of use of the Glimmer paper on here, I love how sparkly it is!

The sentiment is from the hostess set Mixed Medley, punched out with the 3/4 circle, then a Cherry Cobbler 1 inch circle finished off with the 1 1/4 Glimmer paper circle.

Hope you like my make! If you would like full details of the event that takes place in Pudsey please see my poster below!

A Flutter of Butterflies

Hi there! Today I wanted to share some cards we made at our recent Team Training event in October using the Papillon Potpourri set. We made 5 different cards in different styles and colour combos to make into a Baggie Book for my team members to use at their events.

So here are the 5 different cards for you to peruse!

This first one features a gorgeous set called Blooming with Kindness which makes a really quick and effective card. Colours are Pool Party, Midnight Muse and Summer Starfruit

This next one uses the Natural Composition papers and some Crochet Trim, colours are Soft Suede and Calypso Coral

This next one was the hardest one! It uses the Petals a Plenty embossing folder for the background and also for the butterflies, but we swiped the inside of the embossing folder with an inkpad to get the effect you see on the card.

Next up is this bright number in Gumball Green, Pumpkin Pie and Melon Mambo

And finally you can't beat a bit of Crumb Cake! Here it is embossed with the Fancy Fan embossing folder

As you can see quite different in styles and certainly in colour combos.

Thats all for me today! Stuff to crack on with!

Convention General Swaps

Hello there and welcome to my blog on this horrible dark and miserable Tuesday morning!

I thought I would share my General Convention swaps with you as I realised I havent shared these yet! When we attend Convention you can make swap cards to take with you and swap with the other demonstrators to get a variety of different swaps back in return. We generally just make card fronts rather than full cards!

This is one of my versions. I was going to make them all the same but I got fed up after doing 50 or so of each so I changed the design!! This swap uses the Comfort Cafe papers and the Elegant Butterfly punch and Papillon Potpourri.

This was another version and actually my first version! It was very labour intensive when I think about it as there was Big Shotting, Stamping, punching and bows!!!!!! I did get some of the young girls at Evan's dance class to punch things out for me whilst they were waiting for their next class!!!!

This swap uses the large floral stamp from Betsys Blossom and the sentiment from Friendly Phrases. The butterflies were punched out using the Floral District Papers and the butterfly punch.

So there you have my Convention swaps. I made 110 in the end and got some wonderful swaps back which are now adorning my display boards and have been much admired at my recent events. SO how would you like to join us in Manchester for Convention next year?

The dates have now been announced - Friday 22nd - Saturday 23rd November 2013 at Manchester Central! There will be lots of our team attending and we would love you to join the Stampin Up party of the year!!!!

Monthly Training projects

Phew its Monday again!!!! I am probably one of the few people who like Mondays! I get the house back to myself all day and Monday night tends to be a night that I am always in! No workshops/classes/dancing on Mondays so I enjoy my Mondays!!!

I wanted to share with you some projects from our Julie's Jems Training session from the beginning of November. At these sessions we always focus on projects for workshops/parties. This month we focussed on the Elegant Butterfly punch and Papillon Potpourri. The card on the left is also the card that I have been demonstrating at November's workshops/parties. The elegant butterfly punch has been very very popular at these events.

This was a little simple treat box that Charlotte demonstrated at Convention and makes the perfect little box for a Christmas gift of some jewellery or something small in size!

The colours we have used are Midnight Muse, Crumb Cake and Soft Suede. I love the smaller Scallop Circle punch shown here, its so dinky and cute!!!

This was the stepped up card that I showed the customers! I like to show them how they can enhance their projects with a few added products.

And here is the card the ladies made!!!

Hope you like my makes! I am running out of things to show so I had better get crafting!!!
