Back from hols!

Hello, we are back from our week in Eastbourne! It was a nice break but guess what..... the weather wasn't very good to us! Although it didn't rain though so I suppose thats a plus!!
On the way down we did a slight detour and paid a visit to one of my favourite shops The Glitter Pot. It is a fantastic shop, especially if you are into Rubber Stamps and the owner Bryan is very friendly. Stamping Caz was demoing too so it was great to meet her ( a fellow SU demonstrator!!)
My laptop still isn't back so I am typing this on our ancient desktop and I have no cards to upload as they were all on my laptop (which I managed to get onto discs before it went to be fixed just in case!!!)
Hoping to be back making cards this week as the boys are back at school on Wednesday!!
Also want to say a HUGE thank you to Michelle for the fantastic blog candy that she sent me. I cannot upload a picture until my laptop is back but wanted to say thanks!!!!
Bye for now!

And then there were 2!!!!

Its getting exciting!!! I now have just 2 spaces left in my Stampers 10 club!!!! More lovely people have come on board so we are nearly there ladies!!!!

If you are interested in Stampin Up products and building your stash up for a commitment of £15 a month plus postage of £3.50 then please mail me at julie.kettlewell@ntlworld.com

Last week my little boy and I went to the crazy Monicas house!! We nearly didnt get there as the stupid Sat Nav took us down some random country land and halfway down announced to us that we "had reached our destinantion" , no sight of civilization or anything!!!!

Anyway we got rescued and spent a lovely day at Chez Gale with Sally (another of Monicas downline) and her lovely daughter.
Now I have to say the idea was to get together to do some crafting. Not much of that got done I can tell you but I am proud to say I did make 1 card and guess how many the others made ZERO!!!!!!! Too busy talking we were and eating lovely cream scones.

In fact the children put us to shame and made about 5 cards between them.
So here is the one card I made! Using the Wild About You set and the colours Creamy Caramel, Bashful Blue, Close to Cocoa and More Mustard, with a bit of Very Vanilla thrown in!!!

Cheers to You

I love this little pocket invite I made for my sample board last week.

Its using my favourite colours of course!! Pink and Brown!!!!

I saw a similar one that the fabbo Monica did ages ago so thought I would have a try myself.
The background is stamped with the Polka Dot background stamp (gorgeous and one of my first purchases!!) and the image is from the Cheers to You set ( a fantastic set with cocktails, beer mug, champagne glasses, again one of my first purchases, in fact I bought it at the same time as the Polka Dot background!).

The tag inside is pulled out with the attached ribbon and has details of the time, place etc.....

Still got some spaces in my club, mail me for more details or check previous posts

Heartfelt thanks

Just wanted to say a "Heartfelt" thanks to Natalie and Sharon for the awards they have given me on their blogs.

Its great to get these but I always feel bad as I never seem to have time to send them on and when I do everyone seems to have already had one!!! So I am going to leave it here but wanted to say THANKS

Natalie is my craft buddy who lives around the corner from me. We have only been crafting together for just under a year, but we used to go to the same high school and never knew we were both into crafting, and we both have 2 boys also!! Thanks for the award Nat!

Sharon is a new friend who I have found through blogging and through Stampin Up as Sharon came to my workshop I held at my house last week!!! Thanks for coming Sharon and if you are reading this, YOUR GOODIES CAME TODAY!!!!!!

The card above is made with the set Heartfelt Thanks, a set you can get free if you host a stamping up workshop and achieve a Level 3 set of benefits.

Colour combo is Cameo Coral, Old Olive and Chocolate Chip!!

Please mail me at
julie.kettlewell@ntlworld.com for more Stampin Up info!!

Stampers 10 club!

Well another wet weekend here in Yorkshire!!!!! All we seem to do it talk about the weather cos its so poor at the moment!!!

I have a few of places left in my Stampin Up 10 month club. Fo those of you who have asked for a bit more info on it here goes!
  • I need 10 people willing to commit to the club for 10 months

  • You will need to spend £15 a month on Stampin Up products (you can spend more!)

  • Each month one of the 10 club members acts as like a "virtual" hostess and receives hostess benefits (free stamp set and goods of £15 or over) as if you were having a workshop.

  • Postage to you will be charged at £3.50, unless you live local to me and then I am happy for you to collect.

  • You will receive a free catalogue at the beginning of the club for you to make your selections from (these are normally £5.95)

If you are new to Stampin Up and are in awe of the wondeful array of products available then this is a perfect way of building up your SU supplies without breaking the bank each month!!

I will finish with a card which you could be making with your new goodies if you join me!

Happy Hearts

I have been experimenting with different colour combinations and trying to avoid pinks and greens all the time (cant quite bring myself to stop using brown yet though!!)
Colours are Chocolate Chip, Close to Cocoa, Taken with Teal.
SU Stamp set is Happy Hearts, a really versatile set
Better get ready for my SU workshop!!

Happy Birthday Dad!

Yesterday was my Dad's 65th Birthday, can't believe he will be 70 in 5 years!!!! He still seems younger than that to me!!!!
So we had a bit of cardmaking to do!!
My Dad's life has been Cricket!! It is his passion and even though he no longer plays, he is very involved with our local club and more recently has been my son's number one fan and mentor!!!
Here is the card I made from myself and Robin. Its a bit cheesy really and I dont normally do decoupage but Cricket papers etc are hard to find and I had already used the Papernation cricket set last year!!!!
I didnt want to put a huge 65 on the card so I discreetly popped it on the cricket ball that I made using my SU punch and a bit of doodling!

So my eldest boy (9) takes himself off and then proudly comes back with this Cricket Bat shaped card he had made all by himself. I am most impressed with it and that he had the idea in the first place!!!
Now I think my 5 year old may be going to be an artist when he gets older!! He has suddenly got the Mr Men bug and loves spending time drawing them and making cards (yippeee).
The only thing I did for him was score the card and stick the white card on and left him to it. He has copied this from the front onf the Mr Birthday book (see last photo)and he has done an amazing job dont you think!! Bless him, he even added 65!!!
We did notice after we took the photo, that he had missed the blue balloon off so he quickly added it!!

The Mr Birthday Book

And finally here is my lovely Dad with my 2 gorgeous boys!!

Happy Birthday Dad
