Happy Birthday Sister

OMG WIll Young was amazing. What a fantastic night Anna and I had. We were literally a a metre and a half from the stage, only on the 2nd flipping row!!! It was amazing to be so close. Will's voice was perfect, he was very funny too and I have been singing the songs all morning!!!!
Todays card is for my sister Claire. She is 34 today, catching me up!!!!
I have used the Schoolbook Serif Alphabet (my most used set) to stamp sister and used a combo of Old Olive and Rose Red.
Designer papers and Old Olive ribbon with some Felt Flowers from the lovely set, you get loads in this tin, I think they are multiplying!!!!

I have used my Eyelet border punch and made a big bow at the top and added another felt flower!!!! I think I will ask for this card back when she has done with it to use it for my displays!! Can't got wasting all those felt flowers!

Arty farty angle.

Today we are going for a Christmas meal with all my Mums side of the family! Its usually much nearer to Christmas but today was the only day everyone could do!

Back tomorrow

Cupcake card and an update!

Another busy day today. We have been clearing the living room to make way for the new flooring on Monday so have been emptying bookcases and cd units etc...... Gosh we have so much stuff!
I am also going out tonight to see WILL YOUNG!!! I have loved Will's songs since he won Pop Idol and it will be a fab night, am going with my friend Anna and we are quite near the front!!!
Tomorrow its my sisters birthday so I have made her this little card from the boys. I will personalise the inside with a printed insert I think
On a Pedestal stamp set with a colour combo of Real Red, Kraft and Pretty in Pink. I love the Kraft with this, it seems to match with so many colours

You cannot se very well but I stamped a candle on top of the cupcake

Arty farty angle as usual!

Thank you for all your comments and shared excitement about my new craft room. This is how it looks this afternoon, they have dug the base out and laid a load of concrete!! Not very interesting but give you an idea of the size!!

Quick and Simple Auntie Card

Hi there, bit of a late post from me today!! Ooopps
This is a card for my friend to give her sister from her boys. She came to collect both cards today and she loved them both but she went bananas over the boxed card!
This card was a simple quick one, using my favourite papers that are unfortunately retired now!
My friend told me her sister likes shopping so I made this little handbag from the round tab punch and some circle punches.

Colour combo is Chocolate Chip, Regal Rose and Pumpkin Pie.

Arty farty angle

No photo of the progress today but the builders have been all day and have dug out all the foundations and put cement in!!!! Bit boring really but its all progress!!! I went on a little trip to IKEA today to suss out all my storage!

Special 40th Boxed Birthday card

THanks for all your comments on the progress of my new room, I am glad to know I am not the only one who loves looking at other peoples rooms!
I am afraid no updates today as rain stopped play so they are coming to dig out in the morning!
You will have to make do with a card instead!
This card is for one of my best friends to give to her sister who is going to be 40. You might remember a Ruby wedding photo card I did a few months ago, well my friend loves photo carda now!
The colour scheme is all creams and bieges as this was influenced by the photo inside which is on the beach so I had to work with the colours on the photo! The papers are all Bella Bleu, which I love so much!

Sorry for all the photos, I do go a bit mad with them!!! Cardstock is Kraft which matches the papers, lettering cut on my Cricut and used my retro flower punch with pearl centres. Sentiment from Craftwork Cards.
The box was made using the thick sheet of card that you get at the back of the packs of designer papers from Stampin up. They are a really good thickness to make boxes and I save all of them!!
Right I am off to dance class
See you tomorrow

Work In Progress

My apologies for not posting a card today! The workmen turned up a day earlier than planned so yesterday they started demolishing the monstrosity that was my old conservatory. Well to me it was more of a sun room as it was glass all the way down but we just used it for toy storage and for my boxes and bubble wrap! It was a bit damp in there and it needed to go!!!!!!!!
So anyway I have a few piccies to bore you with and I hope you will follow this journey with me from a teeny tiny box room craft room upstairs to a new studio!!!
Here is the dining area in our house! Now that table is not normally there, it is usually in the breakfast kitchen but we moved it for Evans party and havent moved it back yet. This room just used to have toys and PS2 in it! It is about 8 foot wide by 11 foot long and this is going to be my office area and it will have lots of storage for my stamps! The carpet is going on Monday and will be replaced with wooden flooring!
OK as you can see it leads to some patio doors which lead to the monstrosity!

Inside, all the wood was rotting and everything, the roof used to leak aswell! So this was Day 1 (Monday) when we had almost cleared it out!

This is what it looked like when the workmen left on Day 2 (Tuesday). They kindly boarded the patio doors up for me for extra security!

This picture will give you an idea of the new size, it will come out as far into the garden as the other one but it will come right across the kitchen window and will go from being 8ft x 8ft to being 8ft x 15ft.

And this is how they left it today on Day 3 (Wednesday)

TOmorrow they are coming to dig out the foundations!
Hope you havent been too bored with my photos!
I will hopefully post a card tomorrow!

Wedding card

Phew I got the big wedding order out on time yesterday so its onto the next one today! Yesterdays was all cream based and todays is black, ivory and teal so its nice to have a bit of a change!
I try where possible to make a little card for the bride and groom to say thank you and good luck. I also try and make it match their stationery! Here is the one I made for Emma and Justin.
Its a small 12cm square card using the Bridesmaid papers, think I need some more of these, with the stamp from the Fun and Fast Notes set. I masked off the sentiment as I just wanted to use the cake image.

The ribbon is the same as the ribbon used in their stationery and I have added some little heart gems onto the cake to bling it up a bit.

Arty farty angle.

Right I had better crack on with the next order. Some blokes from the conservatory company are coming to secure my patio doors today as they will be exposed and I was a bit worried about security and then tomorrow the old conservatory/eyesore will be knocked down!!! I have been on that IKEA website looking for new storage like you wouldnt believe! I cannot wait until its all done and I can hold my first card class in there! Wanna come??

Last Saturdays Class

Phew I am just about recovered from the weekends activites!
On SUnday Robin and I cleared out the conservatory!! It was chock a block with rubbish, old dresser, old settee, boxes, toys, exercise bike, cricket bags, you name it, it was in there!!!
Its almost clear which is a good job as the builder came round today and they are starting on Wednesday and it should be done within a week and a half!!! Wooo hooo. I am also having new flooring laid in the lounge so we will be all posh for Christmas. I took some photos today for the BEFORE shots but will show them all when its done!
So on Saturday I had a lovely but hectic class. 18 came to my Christmas Rush class, 15 minutes per card, here are 3 of the cards I don't think I have shown yet

And here are all the 8 cards they made. I placed 8 tables in the church hall and people were assigned to a table. Everything for one card was in a Really Useful box and then the boxes moved round, a bit like a Shoebox Swap.

Here we all are.

I had a few new ladies on Saturday and 2 brand new ladies to crafting who had never made cards before. They had a fab time and it was all down to 2 lovely ladies who I "buddied" them up with , Kate and Chris, thanks girls, it really made a huge difference.

I also had 2 children at my class, Jenny and Ross. Jenny is a regular at my classes but Ross (my son) hasnt been before. I think he struggled a bit but my lovely friend Jane (Jenny's Mum) helped him out a lot! They both loved it. If you are wondering what the bells on the table are, each time it was time to move on the kids took it in turns to shake the bells!! Ross was also timing it all on his mobile for me!

Finally I will leave you with Ross's cards. I am very proud of him, even though he says there is something wrong on every one of them!

Back tomorrow

Stamp with Us Recipe Challenge

Good morning, I have missed a few Stamp with Us challenges with one thing and another but I am back this week with the Recipe Challenge!
The recipe is 1 Stamp, 2 Patterned Papers and 3 brads.
Not sure if I have cheated but I have used a border punch for the outside of the card for extra detail. The card blank is Kraft cardstock (love it) and the papers are Bella Bleu which I am using a lot at the moment, love the sophisticated look to them!

The stamp is from the Occasional Greetings set (my friend Vicky loves this sentiment so much) and I have used the Boho Blossoms punch to make the little flowers to which I added some brads in Not Quite Navy.

Arty farty angle as usual so you can get an idea of the dimension

I had a fab time at my card class yesterday, it was hectic but fun, will post photos tomorrow as today we are clearing out the old conservatory to make way for our new one!

Lots of glittering on this card too

And some of my beloved flat back pearls! Inside the card it said Happy Anniversary. I have been on Terri's blog this morning so I know it safe to post and that she likes the card! Have a lovely day Terri and Robert!

Special Wedding Card

What a horrible day today outside, didnt want to prise myself out of bed this morning!
I don't have many weddings taking place at this time of year (still got loads of work though as I am busy making invites for next years weddings) but I do have a lovely customer getting married next Saturday. One of their close friends got in touch with me and asked me to make them a card.
I have used the GORGEOUS, omg they are so lush, Bridesmaid Speciality papers in the catalogue, to be honest they are much thicker than a paper, gorgeous.

I have made a tri-fold card and stamped the image and layered the nesties onto the card blank. The cards are tied with the same ribbon thats on their stationery, I might show you a peek of that tomorrow if I remember to photograph it!

I punched out lots of little flowers and added some flat back pearls to finish to look of the card off.

I really hope the customer and Emma and Justin like the card! Look at those fab swirly papers, yummy yummy!
Well I have some fantastic news today! Today I officially made SILVER 3 with Stampin Up. Its a big promotion for me and I am delighted. I must thank my ever fantastic team of girls, Julie's Jems, a BIG HELLO to my latest Jem, Lisa!!! Welcome to the gang Lisa! Also of course I have to thank YOU my lovely and loyal customers, without you I would not be where I am too! So thank you.
Busy day today, finishing Emma and Justins order and then starting the next 1 or 2 or 3 orders!
