Funky Monkey!

Hello there
Late posting again today, been to dancing with Evan!!!
This is another card we will be making this afternoon, this is for the "young boy" catergory although I am sure a few grown ups wouldnt mind this card!!!!!!
I have used the Sweet Treat cups which are great for adding little sweets and things onto your cards. Here I have used the foam banana sweets!!
I did struggle a bit at first with the mechanism of the sliding part to cover the sweets. It means though that you can get the sweets out without ripping the card. Thanks to SJ for coming to my rescue with this!!

The monkey is made with Chocolate Chip and Creamy Caramel cardstock and used various punches, there is a tutorial on this blog. The stamp is from the Starring You set.
Hope you like it!
Right I am going to do last minute bits of cleaning before my ladies arrive!!

Doodling!

Sorry for the late post today! I didnt switch the laptop on until 4.30pm today!! I have run 2 card classes today with 15 people coming throughout the day so its been a bit hectic!!
Here is a card using the Just Soccer set, a must have for any football fans!!! This card was for a challenge to do some doodling on your card!

The colours used here are Brilliant Blue and Yo Yo Yellow!! Although not my favourite colours I do like to keep these in stock as they are the colours of our towns football team, Leeds United (not that I support them or anything)! Its handy to have them in stock to make a quick Leeds card!

Here is an arty farty angle, the boots are mounted on dimensionals to add another level to the card. Was a very quick card as it was for challenge night, so very simple for you to re-create!!

Right must dash, dancing class tonight!

Punch class last night

I had such good fun last night at my Tuesday class - this week was punch animals, hardly any stamping at all!!!!! Love my Tuesday ladies, they are a fab bunch and we do have a laugh!
This is my room set up ready for the class!
Look at all those punches!

So we made 3 cards, 2 of them you have seen before but I have added the recipes for you to be able to re-create your own animals! You should be able to click on the photo to make it bigger.

Lovely little lion, colours for the lion are Apricot Appeal and Pumpkin Pie, with a Chocolate Chip nose. The punches used are obviously all Stampin Up and the numbers represent the inches.

Next up is a new card and my new favourite!! This was inspired by a card that I got as a swap from Linda but I have made a few changes. I have added larger eyes and made them cross eyed, I dont know why I like to do this but I think it makes the animals look cuter!

The colours used are So Saffron, Really Rust, Close to Cocoa and Pretty in Pink for the tongue! The background is created with a stamp from the Level 1 hostess set Darling Dots and I have stamped onto Kraft with Versamark!

And finally lovely cheeky monkey!!
Here is the recipe, Chocolate Chip, Creamy Caramel with Old Olive branches from the new Bird Punch

And here is what the table looked like after an hours crafting!!!

Can you see the little teddy bear on the table!! Thats Barnaby! I will tell you all about him next time I post!!

Back on track

Well I am back on track after my training day and raring to go!!
Was a fab day to meet people I have never met before and also meet up with old friends! The day went by in a flash!!! In the morning I had to deliver a section on workshop coaching, I was quite nervous but we had to do it in role play format so I was a little bit more at home with that!
In the afternoon I was asked to demonstrate a product technique so I chose to do Punch Art animals. I also had to demo this to the customers in the evening who attended the Stampin Up experience event. Although I was nervous I actually really enjoyed doing the demos!!!
I demoed this little lion (which I will do a tutorial on) and this is the finished card I showed after my demo
Background papers are Pumpkin Pie Designer Series papers, Pumpkin Pie striped grosgrain ribbon and the sentiment is from Starring You set.

The colours for the lion are Apricot Appeal and Pumpkin Pie, with a bit of Choc Chip!

I also demoed this cute monkey which I featured on my blog a few months back. I love this little fellow, it uses a lot of punches but I think it is worth it!

Here he is swinging from the vines in the jungle!!!

Background papers are So Saffron designer papers and the vine - well maybe you will have to wait and see!!!

It was a fab day, I got some gorgeous swap cards and I am raring to go!!

If you would like to experience events like this and become part of my Stampin Up family by joining as a demonstrator then please dont hesitate to contact me!! E mail address is at the top of my blog!

More Schoolbook Serif!

Is it snowy near you?? We have had loads of snow overnight! I am hoping I will still get to go to my dance lesson this afternoon as I look forward to it all week!
My big boy Ross has gone to a Go Karting party today, I am a bit worried about him doing the Go Karting but I am sure he will be fine!
I had to do this really quick card again this morning as I never got to have my crafty session yesterday as my sister came round with my scrummy Nephew Lucas!
So another quick and easy boys card using the stars from Starring You set and the All in the Family set
I have again used the Schoolbook Serif alphabet, a fantastic alphabet, I love it so much (can you tell). You could have this set free if you sign up to become a Stampin Up demonstrator before the end of next week!! If you sign up with me I will also give you another free set!! Check out my post above this one for details!
As Thomas is having the GO Karting party I wanted to incorporate this into the card so I drew the chequered flag by hand. Ross seemes pleased with the card anyway so thats good!

Arty farty angle as usual!

Right I am off to find something to wear for my dance class. It is much better to wear a skirt or dress but I dont possess many and the ironing pile is very high so who knows what I will have to wear today!

Thanks for reading!

2 Callums 2 different cards

Good morning
My son, Ross is going to a joint party on Saturday. Both boys are called Callum but both are very different from each other. I had a spare half hour last night to squeeze in these 2 really quick and simple cards.
The first Callum is a football fan and supports Leeds United. Used the Just Soccer set for this card, made my own background with the ball and the goal logo! The colours are Brilliant Blue and Yo Yo Yellow
The other Callum is not a football fan at all, apparently he likes breakdancing!!!! I was going to attempt to stamp the fella from All in the Family spinning on the floor but wasnt sure it would look right!

The background was made with the Starring You set and the colours are Real Red and Green Galore.

Here they are both together! Another job ticked off the very long list!

Another card for Saturday

Before I show todays card I wanted to say that yesterday was my Stampin Up birthday!!! It has been a year since I signed up to be a demonstrator. Well what a year its been. I cannot imagine life without Stampin Up, I know it sounds cheesy!! I have met the loveliest people and exceeded everything I thought I would achieve!!!

I want to mention a special mention to my Upline Monica and my fab dowline girls, Julie's Jems! You are all wonderful people and I am glad that I am
sharing this journey with you! Long may it continue!
And of course, my wonderful customers, thank you!
Anyway - enough of the slush!
Here is another card we will be making at class on Saturday. It is very similar to one I made a few weeks ago and I thought this can be adapted for many occasions, Father's Day, Male Birthday, Congrats in New Job (which is what I have made this for!)
The card base is Brocade Blue, its a lovely "denimy" blue and I have teamed it with Bashful Blue papers to create a monochrome look. The tie and shirt details have been cut out using a template from Craftwork Cards.

Spotty tie is created using the 1/2 inch and 3/4 inch circle punches

Sentiment is from the Starring You stamp set!

Hope you likey, still got 2 places left for Saturday

Stamp with Us Colour challenge

Happy Sunday!
This week at Stamp with Us we had to work with this photo as inspiration for our project. So my interpretation was to use the colours, Sage Shadow, Pink Passion, Pixie Pink and Pretty in Pink!!!!
Hmmm what could I make with those colours..................................................A CUPCAKE!!!

I got this idea from a friend who sent me a lovely card similar to this which she had CASED from a magazine! I have wound the striped grosgrain ribbon around a piece of card to create the Cupcake case.

The top of the Cupcake was cut with a circle Nestie and then I stamped the Polka Dot Background stamp on with Pink Passion ink. The background is using the little Cupcake from the Birthday Best set and the ribbon round the case is from my stash! The celebrate wording is from Starring You.

I added a Bold Bright button and also some Dazzlin Diamonds glitter for the sparkly cupcake!!
Looking forward to seeing all the other DT projects!

Sugar Bowl Challenge Number 1!

Happy Saturday!!!!
I made this card yesterday evening for the Sugar Bowl Blog challenge.
I was sticking to the orignal sketch so well and then I opened up the card and realised I had it the wrong way round!!! Anyway, read the blog and it says you can rotate the sketch!!!! Phew!!!
The image is of course Sugar Nellie Skater Boy, I always need boys cards so opted to go masculine!!! The papers are Spiced Cider from Stampin Up, double sided and great for male cards!!! The colour combo is Really Rust, Old Olive and Close to Cocoa.
I have coloured the image with my Stampin Up Inkpads and doodled round the edges with co-ordinating markers. Edges of paper have been inked with Close to Cocoa in and the stars have been cut out on my Cricut (I havent treat myself to the Stampin Up Star punch yet, must do that!!!) I have used a Really Rust button with some linen thread. Sentiment is from the Stampin Up Starring You set.
If you would like to order any products dont hesitate to contact me at julie.kettlewell@ntlworld.com
Hoping to do Sketch Saturday later on!!
