Nursery Nest Good Luck

Good morning blogland! Today I am back with something completely different! A Good Luck card for my hairdresser who is going on her Maternity Leave next week!! Yesterday was my last cut (& colour) before she has a break and I am really going to miss her!!

I wasnt sure what sort of card to make her, can't do a Congrats as she hasnt had her baby yet so I went with the Good Luck theme! She already knows she is having a girl so I got to use lots of pink!

I used the Nursery Nest papers which I am sure will retire at the end of September, they have a colour combo of Marina Mist, Pear Pizazz, Blushing Bride and Perfect Plum! They are lovely for baby projects for both boys and girls! I knew as soon as I started the card I wanted bunting!

I used the Party this Way stamp set stamped in either Perfect Plum, Pear Pizazz and Blushing Bride and then I added the letters from the Just Perfect Alphabet! I love how this fits so nicely inside the 3/4 circle punch.

The cot and the building blocks are from the Little Additions stamp set, again perfect for baby projects. I love the little addition of the Pink Pirouette taffeta bows!!!

I bought Sarah a matching Scrapbook album and wrapped it in tissue paper with some of our Whisper White ribbon! She was really pleased with it, loved the card and loved the album as she said it was something really different and is looking forward to recording lots of memories!!

Bye for now!

Julie

Birthday Boy card

Hello there - its Monday again and already the 3rd week of the school hols!! Yesterday Evan went to one of his school friends birthday party and a quick card was called for on Saturday evening!!

I reached for a trusty colour combo of Bashful Blue, Real Red and Soft Suede with a Crumb Cake card blank. I don't really know this little boy very well so just stuck to making a card with his name on. I used the Petite Pennant punch and the Party this Way stamp set for the bunting. I then stamped his name with the Just Perfect alphabet and punched the letters out with the 3/4 inch circle punch

The background paper is from the ever useful Subtles DSP Stack.

Arty farty angle to show the layered up lettering

Simple decoration inside!

I was informed by Evan that the birthday boy liked his card but his Mum liked it even more! Evan proudly told her "My Mum makes cards you know"!!!!

Right thats me off for today, got my customer newsletter to do this morning so if you are on my mailing list - watch your mailboxes!

A couple of Decathlon projects

Hi there!!! I am up early this morning but SO tired! Last night the new Seasonal Catalogue was available online for us to see and WOW!! Its impressive!!! If you havent booked a workshop/home event with me yet then now is the time to do it! September is already looking busy but I have a few more dates I could squeeze in!!! Lots of gorgeous Christmas goodies to feast your eyes on! Can't wait to get my hands on it!

SO here is the first project - a Mixed Bunch Easel card. This project was quite quick compared to the others, so it was the "catch up card"!!!

The In Colour combo with the Mixed Bunch stamp set and Framelits

We also made a little coaster book as an alternative project.

I thought this would look really cute with some holiday snaps!

Thats all for today! I am still busy plodding on with my Training preps for Saturday,  I am sure I will also be sneaking some sneaky glances into the new Seasonal Catty over the course of the day!! Don't you just love new stash!!

Until tomorrow

Silly Old me!!!!

Hello there and Happy Easter to you!!

Today I am sharing a little card with you and a silly story!!! A couple of weeks ago we went out dancing to a local ballroom with a crowd of us from our dance school as we were celebrating 2 birthdays from our group!!! One of my friends celebrating was Stuart and I sneakily messaged everyone to bring him a card, he was a bit overwhelmed with the amount of cards!!

The next day his Mum (also a friend) popped up to chat to me on Facebook to thank me for the lovely card I made for Stuart and that he loved it!!! Trouble was I forgot to write inside it!!!! Have you ever done that??? They worked out it was from me though as it was a handmade one and Stuart has joked I can send it again to him next year now!!

This card is just liked one I made at a Stamp a Stack a while back but with the addition of the letters to spell out Stuarts name!

Colours are Lucky Limeade, Island Indigo, Cajun Craze, Crumb Cake and Very Vanilla

Have a good day whatever you are doing

I showed you this layout that I made a few weeks ago of the gorgeous Isabelle!! The ladies for all the things in their kits to make similar pages.

I really love the Subtles Glimmer brads they make the perfect toppings on the cupcakes!

I made another page last week on the same theme, this time using photos of me and my little Sister! DO you think I have changed?????

I am still into these flags, really easy to create and they look so effective!

Happy Mother's Day

Hello there and Happy Mothers Day to all the Mum's out there!!!
I have had a lovely lie in this morning (after a night out of dancing last night) and I received some lovely tulips and some gorgeous satin PJ's (selected by my eldest Ross, who has really good taste and knows me very well).

I will be going to see my Mum shortly and taking the card below with me and a bunch of flowers! I dont get my Mum a lot on the actual day as I pay for a magazine subscription for her for Mothers Day every year, so just get her a little token on the day!

I made this card a few days ago and its one of the ones I was really pleased with!! I am going a bit bow crazy and this is another double bow!!!!!

The flowers were made with the Boho Blossom punch and the papers are of course the EVERYDAY ENCHANTMENT Sale a Bration papers. I know I keep going on about these but seriously you can only get your hands on them until 31st March with a spend of £45! Please message me to place an order - I have one going in today!

I also made another card made by request for a lovely lady whose husband is in Afghanistan, he sends me all his card requests and I send them on, how lovely is he!!! I really hope she got this in time, posted it Thursday so should be OK!!!!

Hope you like my projects

Have a lovely day

Sugar and Spice Scrapbooking

Hello there - Wednesday already - where do the days go??

Do you ever make a project that you are so proud of that you can't stop looking at it??? Well todays project I am sharing with you is mine!!! I recently did a workshop for my theatre friend Rachel and she asked me to do it on a scrapbooking theme. THis is quite unusual for me as most people want to learn or already make cards. Rachel has the most gorgeous daughter and I asked permission if I could use a photo of her, which was taken by another theatre friend - Jen. Brilliant photo isn't it?

The colours were mainly from the Subtles colour family with an addition of Pool Party.

I used the papers to create these pennants across the top and then added the Just Perfect alphabet with the 3/4 circle punch on top of them.
One of my favourite things about this page (apart from the lovely Isabelle) is the cupcakes with the Subtles Glimmer brads on top!! They look so scrummy!!

If you are local to me and have fancied having a go at Scrapbooking then we will be using these products in our kit for March. The first session is £32 and you get a Linen 12x12 album included (RRP £23.95) plus your kit (normal monthly cost of £12), You will have plenty of stash to make 2 layouts with bits left to take home! Closing date for booking is this Friday at 6pm.

Huge thank you to my friends Rachel and Jen for allowing me to use this photo on my blog!!

So of course I have used the Pennant punch again today and I have teamed it with the Flirtatious papers. The colour combo is Pretty in Pink, Melon Mambo and one of our NEW IN COLORS - Wisteria Wonder. Watch out for details later on today of a fab new CLUB I am offering!.
The border punch at the bottom is the new Lace Border punch and I have added some Rhinestones to it, sentiment is from Petite Pairs. It is punched with the Designer Label punch and then fed back in and punched again. I have been showing my class ladies this trick recently!

Evans dance classes re-start tomorrow so I am looking forward to that and I have a Stampin Up Leadership Training event tomorrow that I am attending so I am looking forward to catching up with lots of my lovely downline and other demos from around the northern area.

This is the last card we made at my class for boys on Tuesday night. It uses the Make a Monster set and the Celebration papers. These have been one of my favourite papers this year and they are on the Last Chance List - See post above to view the list

We made some bunting from the Four Frames stamp and the Decorative Label punch folded over. The card also has the Basic Phrases stamp set on it, this is a great set with 24 phrases and its reduced by 25% to £25.46.

School days Scrapbooking

Good morning, what a lovely sunny Sunday it is!!

Yesterday I had a fab scrapbooking class and also a lovely sale day with lots of ladies coming to get their hands on lots of my sets which retired last year. Thank you to those who came, was lovely to see you.

My lovely scrapbookers were on fire yesterday creating School Days layouts. I took my camera and was so busy I didnt get chance to take photos!!!

So the theme was school days and we used the apple stamp from the Tart and Tangy set and the Play Date papers.

I created a little blackboard effect with some black card and the white inkpad and I used the word window punch to create some books. One of my ladies on Tuesday made some pencils using the same punch and they looked fantastic.

This page is of Evan and covers all the things he did in Reception

And this page is Ross and has photos of his first day at school and his first Nativity play when he was one of the three kings.

Hope you like the layouts, if you are local and would like to join our scrapbook club please get in touch with me. Email address is at the top of my blog
