Twit Twoooo - Owl Class at 2!

Good Morning!

Today is my Owl Class. Lots of my ladies are coming this afternoon to make some cute projects (and I have ordered lots of cake too).

My good friend "darn sarth" Jo did some brilliant projects and I asked her if she would mind if I CASED them and being the fab friend she is she said Yes!! She originally got the card design from the USA from a lady called Brenda who I also got permission from to CASE her card, thanks BRENDA

Gosh I love this card so much, it just makes me smile every time I look at it!!!!

Lots of Owls to make 6 in total!!

The hat is made from the Star punch and the top of the hat is from the new Itty Bitty Punch Pack, perfect size!

The next card is an anniversary card which I was inspired to make from a similar one my Stampin Up Mum Monica did. I have made mine into an easel card though
Colour combo of Old Olive, Daffodil Delight and TEmpting Turquoise

Again I have used the Itty Bitty Punch Pack and the Little Leaves Sizzlet die

The sentiment is from Cheers and Wishes

I havent photographed the last project yet but I will do that later and put photos on from todays event too!!!!

Hope you like the projects, and I am really hoping my lovely ladies do too!!

See you tomorrow

Monster Birthday Invitation

Hello there. Back to normal today, my boys are back at school and I am busy working away!!! I have also got lots of Stampin Up training this week! 2 sessions with my team at my house and then some Stampin Up run training in Leeds on Saturday!! How exciting that Stampin Up are running the training in my home city!!!!!!! Got lots of Jems attending!!

So here I am with another child themed project. I just LOVE Make a Monster! I wasnt really sure at first, I will be honest. I thought it might be a bit fiddly but I love it! I am a huge Monsters Inc fan and a Mike Wasowski fan (I do a mean impression - ask me next time you see me!)

So this is a little pocket styled invite. I was trialling these out for my Nephew's 2nd Birthday as he loves the SU catalogue and the Monster page is one of his favourites!! However my sister informed me today he is having a pirate party!! :(

Inside I have used the handy invitation stamp from Cheers and Wishes and stamped a couple more monsters! I didnt make them hold hands on purpose!! It was a happy accident!!

I just love this colour combo for boys. Pacific Point, Old Olive and Real Red.

I am going out tonight and really looking forward to it. One of my theatre friends has just left drama school last summer and got his first professional job in Buddy the musical - as Buddy!!! Gosh I am so proud to know him so I am looking forward to seeing him in action - Oh Boy!!!

More Mr & Mrs

Good morning! I am up and about far too early for a Bank Holiday but got loads to do as usual so needs must!!!
Yesterday we spent most of the day down in Lincolnshire, near Grantham for my Aunty and Uncles Pearl Wedding Celebrations. I was their little bridesmaid 30 years ago!!!! It was funny showing Ross and Evan the photos that she had of me and my sister!!
So I decided to make her one of the bride and groom cards but this time I used the Bride papers which are a lot more white than the bridesmaid.
I used the sentiment from Cheers and Wishes and I typed up and insert congratulating them on their Pearl wedding anniversary.

I had to use lots of pearls of course on this card and I used 7 of them from my Pretties kit, gosh think I am nearly all out of pearls now, but she is my favourite Aunty so very worth it!!!!!!

Arty farty angle for you!!!

Before I go remember there is only 2 days left for the 20% offer, please see the post at the top of my blog for more details. I will be placing an order tomorrow for any last minute requests!!

Bye for now

Anniversary card

Morning all!
I have been playing around with ideas for an anniversary card for my hubby Robin as we have been married 14 years next Tuesday!!! EEEKkkkkkk!!!!
I wanted to make something a bit more masculine and also something my ladies could make at our LURVE class near the end of the month.
I went for an easel card using the colours Taken With Teal (retiring), Pumpkin Pie and Soft Suede. Also wanted to use some of the spotty Soft Suede ribbon which unfortunately will also be going at the end of September!
The birds were stamped first onto the white card and then onto some patterned paper from the Sweet Pea pad and cut and layered on top. I used the linen thread (so useful) and added some of the Tiny Tags to it also a lot of paper pricking too!

The Happy ANniversay sentiment is from Cheers and Wishes.
RIght thats it for me today, got a day of wedding stuff in between sorting the boys out and housework!!!

Live your Dream!

Hello there, its a longer post today so please stick around!!!

Todays title is Live your Dream which is the stamp set I have used for 2 cards below. Its also a very appropriate title in another way, but more of that later!
Two of my lovely downline recently promoted to Bronze 2 level so I sent them a card to say Congratulations. I have used 3 colours, 2 of which will no longer be available after 30th September!! The colours are Summer Sun, Pink Passion and Old Olive (which will be staying).
I must admit to LOVING Pink Passion but I am sure Melon Mambo will replace it quite nicely for me!!! I have coloured the image with my marker pens and I love the brightness of it!

Here are both cards together, slightly different to each other!

Onto the second part of Living your Dream!!! When Strictly Come Dancing came onto our screens in 2003 I was immediately hooked! I loved it, the dancing, the music, the glitter, the costumes, everything. But what I wanted to do more than anything was to learn to do it myself!!!! Never having the confidence to just turn up on my own at a dance class I put it to the back of my mind, but still watched the program as an avid fan!!
Fast forward to October 2009 when I went to my first lesson!!! Since then my little Evan started in April, yes he has only been dancing for 13 weeks and he has amazed me!! He has done an exam (so have I too) and on Sunday we entered our first competition!

Here is my little ballroom boy, so so proud of him!

Here he is with his teacher just about to start the waltz. He got a bit of stage fright and told me he didnt want to do it but after a little chat and a cuddle he was fine. He danced so well and to our delight he got through the first round and into the Semi Final!!! Sadly he didnt get into the final but we were so pleased he got through, it gave him a real boost!

Action shot!

He also danced the Cha cha cha with his teacher and then he also danced it with his partner, they did amazing and he led her beautifully!!
I was also dancing, Tango and Paso Doble, 2 very hard ones that I had only learned in 4 hours!!!!Sadly I didnt get through to the final on the Tango but I did on the Paso Doble and I got a medal, and best of all I have qualified to dance in the Grand Finals at Blackpool Tower Ballroom in November, talk about Living your Dream!!!

Here we are together, me and my Ballroom Boy!!!
Thanks for listening today, I am still a bit excited about it!!!!!!
Got card class tonight so the poor ladies are going to have to here all about it!!!!

Anniversary card

Hello there
Sorry for the lack of posting yesterday, I managed to get all my May wedding orders finished and out which was a huge relief!!!!
Here is a card that I have just made for my sister and her husband whose anniversary it is on Monday. I wanted to use black and cream as these were the colours they had on their wedding day.
Its a tall DL size card and uses the Bridegroom papers (not that they are papers, more like a card in fact) and I have mounted them onto a Very Vanilla card blank.

The image is from the All for Friends new hostess set from the mini catalogue and the ribbon is Very Vanilla, trimmed the card with the eyelet border punch. The sentiment Mr & Mrs is from Occasional Greetings punched out with the new tiny tag punch and the other sentiment is from Cheers and Wishes

Hope you like it!

Its chucking it down here so very miserable this afternoon, perfect for crafting!!!!

Wonders with Wheels class - This Saturday

On Saturday I will be having a card class in Pudsey using the Stampin Up Wheels. Its the perfect chance to have a go with the wheels if you don't have any. We will be making a variety of different cards.
Here is one of the cards we will be making using the Neighbourhood wheel to make a New Home card.
Using a colour combo if Earth Elements, a very simple card using a lot of colouring in! I have coloured with the markers but you can use the inkpads and a brush or blender pens.

Inside is a little house that I have stamped again, cut out and stuck to the insert!
I have a couple of places left, if you would like more info please mail me on julie.kettlewell@ntlworld.com

Well Done Dad!

I made this card for my Dad on Saturday night. He retired a year ago and he has been feeling a bit bored, he is very much a worker is my Dad so to suddenly leave work was a big deal!!!
He has therefore got himself a little job working just a few hours a week as a handyman at a local nursing home and I think he is chuffed to bits now he has something to focus on!!!

So I decided to get out my Fixafella, I knew he would come in handy one day!! I have never used him and had him ages!!!

I have coloured him with my Stampin Up Inkpads and the colours used are Bordering Blue for the overalls and Gable Green for the top, Creamy Caramel for the shoes and toolbox. Other colours are Tempting Turquiose for the ribbon and the matting card.
Papers are Rainbow Sherbert and I used the Congratulations stamp from the Cheers and Wishes set! Used my tab punch and a button with some ribbon tied in a knot!.
Gave it to my Dad on Sunday and he seemed really pleased and taken aback!!! Bless!
See you tomorrow!
