Stampin Up - Handy for Homework!

Yes we have a saying in our house! "Stampin Up - handy for homework!" My youngest son Evan has a Learning Log to do every half term. These are extended projects in a larger exercise book and are often difficult dependent on the subject matter! Last time it was all about the artist Lowry - I left Robin to that one! Evan leaves primary school in July so we won't have many more of these to do! The teacher asks that they do their projects as creative as possible - I can help with that!!! This time Evan had to write about a Yorkshire tourist attraction and it took us nearly 2 weeks to decide! I put it to him that we did about The Deep in Hull as I had pictured how cute we could do some punch art sea creatures! And here is the finished piece!!!
I used the new fringe scissors, which came in very handy at just the right time, to create some seaweed and lots of ovals and circles for the pebbles/rocks. We had the idea of using white card in circles for bubbles and writing the facts about the attraction in the circles.
Evan helped loads with this, after all it wasn't MY homework! He did all the Big Shotting, punching and he inked every single thing! I just assembled them all for him and did any fussy cutting that was required.
We are really pleased with the finished result and he takes it into school today. If I have any teacher readers out there do leave me and more importantly Evan a comment as we would love to know what you think.
Have a great Friday!

Happy Watercolour

Hi there and good morning to you! I'm feeling quite refreshed this morning as last night was the first night I have properly "slept through" without waking up coughing and needing water/medicine. It also means I am here at my normal time doing my blog post! I know some of my readers do check my blog first thing in the morning!

Today I am sharing another Stamp a Stack card, think I have shared 3 now. This one uses a new stamp set called Happy Watercolour from the Spring/Summer Seasonal. I cased this card directly from a lovely ladies blog from the USA, Jenny Peterson. I had the pleasure of having a brief chat with her in our hotel foyer when I attended the convention in Utah. You can find Jenny's card HERE
The colours used are Bermuda Bay, Crushed Curry and Smoky Slate. I used the Dictionary background stamp for the pennant and then stamped the flowers in Stazon on top. We then stamped the watercoloured block on top of the flower. I know it looks like we have been watercolouring but the stamp is made to look like that! It's amazing and very clever how it fades out.
Half a doily adds a feminine touch and the sentiment is from the same set. I will add all the links below to my Online Store. Talking of my Online Store, thank you to those of you who have already placed Online Sale-A-Bration orders with me, I appreciate each one!
Last night I totally cleared my craft desk ready to create today - I have a lot of makes to get through!
See you tomorrow

Another Hardwood Card

Hi there and welcome to my blog, very late in the day today! I was delaying updating as I wanted to take photos of the projects we made at last nights Tuesday Club and upload them here today but it's been so dark today that it hasn't been possible. Last night was the 4th birthday/anniversary of our Tuesday Club. This club started out fortnightly in my conservatoire at my old house! I remember feeling so nervous about the class and whether they would come back next time. Luckily they did and happy to say of the 8 original ladies 5 of them are still crafting with me at every club, plus we have a few new friends now too!!!! These crazy, fun and supportive ladies have been the back bone of my original Stampin Up business and have been a pleasure to spend Tuesday evenings with. What's even more lovely is that they have forged friendships through a love of crafting. Thank you girls!

Thank you to those of you who placed orders yesterday on the first day of Sale-A-Bration! I am excited to say my top seller so far is the fab Hardwood background stamp I am sharing again today! The most popular SAB freebie is the Banner Blast punch at the moment.
This card was from my Stamp a Stack last week and is a CASE of one I found on Pinterest. I just changed it up a little to make it easier for my ladies who make 12 cards in one evening
The stamp set used is a SAB Freebie called You're Lovely and I have teamed it with the Petite Pairs sentiment set. A little crochet trim adds a feminine touch.

That's me done for the day. I have spent a very enjoyable day on the phone with some members of our team going through business bits and bobs and setting goals and also ladies thinking of joining our Stampin Up family! Lovely to catch up with them but my voice is going again now!!
See you tomorrow

Petite Petals aperture card

Good Morning and welcome to my blog today! This time tomorrow I will be saying YAY it's Sale-A-Bration!!!! This weekend has been a busy one for me, filled with work and some play too!!! On Friday night I held my Stamp a Stack for 14 lovely ladies using all new products from the Spring/Summer ans SAB brochures, which went down very well with lots of ladies ordering to get their class free. On Saturday I ran our Team Training Day for 24 ladies in our Jems, making projects, sharing inspiration and making a plan of attack for our SAB period!!! Then yesterday I had an amazing time at the Strictly Live Tour with my son Evan. Its the first time he has been and we were only 5 rows from the front, so so close to the dancers! I could inspect their footwork and everything! The Leeds arena was brilliant and the layout there for Strictly was a lot smaller so it was much more intimate! A really busy weekend and the whole time I was fighting the dreaded lurgy that I have! I can barely speak now!
So onto the craft, as that's why you visited? Today I am sharing a Stamp a Stack card from Friday. I think this was one of the most popular ones from Friday evening. It uses the new Petite Petals stamp set and punch and another new stamp set, Perfect Pennants, for the sentiment. I used the Baroque embossing folder from the Annual Catalogue to emboss the front and create a little interest.
The colours we used were Baked Brown Sugar, Crisp Cantaloupe, Strawberry Slush and Pistachio Pudding.
Can you see the little leaves peeking out? These were made by punching a flower out and then cutting 2 petals out from the flower - 2 in 1 use for your flower punch!!!!!

I do hope you like this card and remember all the new products will be available to purchase from my Online Store tomorrow. I know a lot of my lovely ladies are telling me they have their lists ready!!
Until tomorrow

Julie's Jems Sale-A-Bration Blog Hop

Good Morning and welcome to my blog today! Firstly I would like to thank Karyn and Debbi from within our team of Jems for organising this Sale-A-Bration Blog Hop. We hope you will hope through our blogs and enjoy some inspiration. Sale-A-Bration begins on Tuesday so you have only 2 more days to wait! I am so excited and I know my class ladies from Friday nights Stamp a Stack loved the offering this year!

So here goes! You should be joining me from my wonderful downline Amanda's blog. You can find a link to her blog at the bottom of this post on the logo that says PREVIOUS POST.

Today I am sharing a project I designed for our team training day yesterday! This was based on a smaller version by my friend Bekka, I just added some extra pages and changed it all up slightly. I changed it from a mini album into a special birthday card. My girls loved making it yesterday - it certainly got the WOW factor!
Here it is fastened and then it opens up to reveal a special birthday card
The papers are part of the SAB offering, they are called Sweet Sorbet and the brochure does not do them justice, they are so gorgeous in real life! The banner shape is also a punch that is available in SAB, it was the most popular item at my class this Friday.
The HAPPY has also been cut from another SAB set called See Ya Later which I will share with you this week on another post.
I will be filming a tutorial this week on how to make this project so watch this space.
I hope you have enjoyed my make today, why not click on the NEXT POST below and head on over to the lovely Allie to see what she has been up to! In case the links get broken I have added the whole list below! Enjoy!
