Paper Haven Day Retreat

Phew I am just about recovered to be able to blog about our fantastic day on Saturday! It truly was a fab day and the venue and the food (things mostly out of my control) where brilliant, lots of compliments on texts, email and Facebook - thank you ladies!

Here was my craft room before I left on Saturday morning! I love planning these events but I am also loving getting my craft room floor back!
I didn't quite manage to take a photo of the empty room as some of the lovelies had already arrived. My fab husband Robin set all of this up for me whilst I took charge of the creative display area. This is a fab room for crafting and events and we all fit in really nicely with just enough room. This room is at the end of the building so we were also out of the way too!
What can I say about the catering, Jean the lady who looked after us was AMAZING! I have had message telling me she is a legend and how much people enjoyed the food! She worked like a trouper. Here are the coffee's and pastries waiting for the ladies to arrive!
Each guest had their own workspace with a goodie bag and a mini coffee treat cup which my brilliant best friend Jane made for me when we had a crafty session a few weeks ago! I got the straws from the famous boutique of the North - Home Bargains!! My downline Sally-Jo calls it that!
The displays are important as my ladies always take lots of photos and it also helps inspire their purchases too! ;)
 Smile ladies!!!!

My friend Jane also decorated these cute vintage style jars for me for the fun game we played in the evening! The ladies got to keep the jars too! Also EVERYONE won a prize! These also came from another famous boutique of the North - B&M Bargains!!
And as soon as it had started it was time to pack up 12 hours later! Luckily I went home with a lot less than I came with!
I want to thank the wonderful supportive ladies for attending and for your company and humour throughout the day - still laughing at Gill's faux pas with the letter 'H'. I have provisionally booked a Christmas themed day on Saturday 15th November. Priority given to attendees from this event but places will be advertised shortly.

Remember it's the last few hours of Sale-A-Bration now, your last chance to get free goodies!

Paper Have Day Retreat - Morning Project

Good morning! Again this is another scheduled post as I am hoping when you read this that I will be enjoying a well deserved lie in, partly for Mother's Day and partly from the exhaustion of running yesterdays event! I will be back with all the low down on the event tomorrow, once I have got my energy back and caught up on my laundry!
This was the project we made in the morning. The girls got 1/2 a pack of the Watercolour Wonder paper and 1/2 a pack of the Watercolour Wonder Note cards. Ever since Stampin' Up! brought out these new style wood mount boxes I have been wanting to go a stationery gift set so this was the perfect opportunity.
Inside I created a belly band of matching DSP for the envelopes and added a loop for the pen. I then created a box with the Envelope Punch Board and cut one side off to leave it open and decorated it with a monogram.
The cards inside are all kept pretty simple as they already have some lovely designs on them
Back tomorrow with all the goss from the day!

Paper Haven Day Retreat - Afternoon Project

Hello there! This is a scheduled post today as I am at my All Day Retreat and I wanted to share my favourite project from the day with you. I have purposely posted on my blog a little later than normal so hopefully the ladies won't see it until they are making it! Unless they are sneakily checking my blog on their phones whilst at the retreat!!!
This project was inspired by a really basic version of a card one of my customers got from Marks and Spencer, very very plain and it was just circles but it gave me the idea to thread the ribbon through the scalloped ends of the Sahara Sand pieces. I must say it's taken me a while to latch on to Sahara Sand but I LOVE it with these colours and it is fast becoming a firm fave! Not sure if it will overtake my love for Crumb Cake or not! You cannot see properly from the photos but I have looped the ribbon at the end with a brad so it can hang up on a wall.
This project took me around 2 hours 20 minutes to complete so I am figuring that with sharing products and such like, it's going to take my ladies a fair amount of time but I do hope that this is something they can replicate at home. I chose these colours as I know a lot of my ladies have the 2013-2015 In Colours so they can bring them along and the making will go a lot quicker and smoother.
And here is a little box made with the Envelope Punch Board that houses this project
A lot of Petite Petal action on this project and I wanted to take the time to thank you for your patience waiting for this punch! It has been INCREDIBLY popular and more supplies came in last week and filled the orders waiting in date order but we now need more punches which are on their way to the warehouse! It will be worth the wait - I promise!

Have a happy Saturday and I will be back tomorrow!
