Football related antics!

My 2 boys have been on a fantastic football course all week this week. They have been going every day from 10-3 and not only has it given them some exercise and tired them out but I have been able to get on with a lot of work too!!
They have been very well looked after whilst they were there and have thoroughly enjoyed themselves, I must admit I was a bit worried about my little one going but he has had a ball and it has done him a lot of good!!!!!
So we decided to make a card for "Greeny", the coaches surname is Green and they have called him this all week! Only I forgot about doing it until 10pm last night so had to make a quick 10 minute card!!!!
I stamped the footballs all over, they are from the All in the Family accessories set and I have used a trophy die cut that I have had for ages! I used the Schoolbook Serif alpha to personalise the card

Arty farty angle as usual!!!!
Thought I would share a few photos!! Evans team won the World Cup tournament today! HE was Brazil and he was highly delighted to win the T-shirt he is wearing and a medal!! He is happy honestly!! Thats his version of smiling!

Here they are together, I can never get a decent one of them both!

And here is superstar Ross who won the Penalty Shoot out competition!!! He is having a fab week sportswise this week I think!!!

I have got a card to show tomorrow but I am looking after my 11 week old Nephew all day from 11am until about 10pm as his MUmmy and Daddy are going to a wedding!!!! If I dont get chance to post you know why!

Bride's room sign!

Got something a little different to show you today!

One of my lovely brides has asked me to make a hanging sign to go on the door of her hotel room!!! What a cute idea!!! Her theme is black and hot pink and the design I have done fits in with the rest of the stationery I have done for her!

Here it is hanging on the door handle!!!

Had a productive day with the stationery today, still got loads to do before our holidays but I am getting there, few more late nights I think!!!!
It gets better for Ross with the cricket, he got a phone call last night asking him to play for the Under 13's team tonight!! He is only 10!!! The look on his face when he got the call last night was a moment to treasure!

Baby girl card

I've not really got much time for cardmaking for pleasure at the moment so when my Mum asked me to make her a baby card it was a nice change!!!

Her next door neighbour has just had a baby girl! She has already got 2 boys so a little girl is lovely! Made me think it might work out like that for me!!! Then I quickly changed my mind!!!
Her name is Katherine but they are going to call her Kitty for short

Arty farty angle as usual!!!
WARNING - proud Mum moment!!! MY boy Ross and his cricket team won their semi final last night so they are now through to the Cup Final!!! WOoo hooo, I am so proud of him!!! Here is a very small photo of him, he is the one who has just bowled the ball!!!!!!!!

Bye for now!

Playful Petals project

My lovely downline and friend, Sarah B is commonly known between my team as the "3D queen". Sarah has come up with lots of fab projects and has inspired me to step out of my card comfort zone and make something 3D!!

I made this box from scratch on Saturday evening and was very chuffed with myself, it is very basic in comparison to some of the projects you see on the WWW but hey everyone has to start somewhere!
The whole project is using the Tea Party Papers and the Playful Petals stamp set with the odd sentiment stamp from other sets.

The box has a flap lid which is secured with a velcro button and houses 4 cards and envelopes but is deep enough to fit a couple more in.

A couple of close ups of the cards, colour combos are So Saffron, Certainly Celery, Pretty in Pink and Almost Amethyst.

I am thinking of taking photos to make a tutorial in how to make the box!
Got wedding order overload this week, but I luckily enrolled my boys on a week long football course!!! The came back filthy yesterday but enjoyed themselves!!

First Christmas card of 2009!!!

Wooo hooo I have made a Christmas card in July!!!! First time ever I think!!!!!
I am running a class in November (see sidebar for details) called Christmas Rush during which we will make 8 cards in 2 hours. All the cards have therefore got to have a degree of simplicity to them to get them done in the time frame!!
This is using one of my favourite Su christmas colour combos, Chocolate Chip, Ruby Red and Old Olive. I have used the flower from the Season on Joy set and the sentiment from the Best Yet hostess set, I love that little saying!

Arty farty angle! Papers are from the Holiday Treasures and the edge has been scalloped. Sentiment punched out with my oval punches!

I am aiming to make one a week so by the time my workshop comes round I will have done all of them!!!!

I HAVE ALREADY FILLED 10 PLACES ON THE CHRISTMAS WORKSHOP SO THERE ARE ONLY 6 PLACES LEFT. PLEASE E MAIL ME AT julie.kettlewell@ntlworld.com to book your place.

Back tomorrow with a cute little project

Stamp with Us DT card

Sunday again and another DT card for Stamp with Us.
This weeks challenge is a Recipe challenge to use 2 patterned papers, 1 ribbon and 1 piece of hardware.
I have used my old favourite Sweet Always papers and made some little folded cupcake cases from the stripey paper. Also used my trusty Oval punches, dont know what I did before we had these!!! So many of the sentiments fit inside them.

Here is an srty farty angle so you can see the cutey cupcake cases!!
It broke my heart but I have already sent this card to a very kind friend who helped me out!!!!!! I really wanted to keep it for myself! Might have to make another one!

Sugar Bowl birthday card

My little Evan has another party to go to tomorrow, he goes to more parties than I do!!! It is his good friend Louis's birthday so I combined the card with the Sugar Bowl sketch.
You had to try and also include ribbons and bows!!! Hmmm, I have used a tiny piece of ribbon just to join in but dont think a bow would have looked quite right on this one!!!

The papers are a mixture of Junior Varsity and Real Red designer prints. The image has been coloured in with a mixture of Copic ciaos and my Stampin Up marker pens.

I love this colour combo, Bashful Blue, Real Red and Old Olive.

Also love this arty farty shot, it looks like the card is floating!
Well my Evan went to the dentist again today and saw another dentist this time!!!! Well he screamed the place down and would not let her even do the needle this time! She says his abcess shouldnt be a problem and as the tooth is wobbly it will be out soon anyway, just give him lots of apples to eat!!!! Makes me wonder why the first dentist we saw didnt say that!!!

Another 3D project!

I enjoyed doing the bag with cards so much on Monday that I decided to do another one this morning while the kids snuggled under their duvets watching a film (West Side Story - you can tell that they come from a Mum with a love of musical theatre!!!)

I wanted to use Tart and Tangy and I saw that Cute Card Thursday has a challenge to use Eyelets this week so I finally learned how to use my crop o dile (thanks Sarah B!) and did use 2 eyelets on this project although one is hard to see!!!

Here is a picture to prove the eyelets are on there!!!

I then made 4 matching cards

And of course I stamped the envelopes too!

Hope you like?? I really enjoyed this one!

Baby Boy!!!

My sisters best friend had a baby boy on Sunday so my sister was straight on the phone for a card for her!!! Its really nice as my nephew Lucas will now have a lifelong little buddy!!!!
I went for my usual card, these cards never let me down, they always get nice comments by the recipients and they work well for many occasions!
I have used bashful Blue designer papers and the Bashful Blue Striped grosgrain ribbon plus a few die cuts from my New Arrival cricut cartridge! The stars are from my Stampin Up star punch!
A couple of arty farty angles!!!!

I actually received an order for 12 of these little blighters as brith announcement cards so it was very easy to just make another one the same while all the stuff was out!!!!!!!

Production line!!!! Good job my friend Jane helped me out with these on Sunday night!!!! Thanks Jane!!!
Todays mission is to make 35 Order of Service, go to the Library with the boys, go to the Post Office, Bank, keep the house tidy (impossible) and possibly make a card or 2!

Stamp with Us DT entry

Happy Sunday everyone.
Today we have a colour challenge over on the Stamp with Us blog and the colours are detailed in the photo below!!! How very summery although its been raining this morning!!!!!
I decided to use a stamp set that I have hardly used!! Petal Pizazz is from the Mini Catalogue and is great if you love your flowers (and cutting out!!!!!) I have used Real Red, Summer Sun, Old Olive, Bashful Blue.

The sentiment is from the Occasional Greetings set (I know my friend Vicky really loves this sentiment!!) and I used the sentiment as the focal point. Then I stamped very lightly over the top with one of the flower stamps and some Bashful Blue ink!

Lots of cutting out involved with this one and I then layered it up a lot to give it some depth. Which you can see in the................................................

...........................arty farty angle!!!!
Well its Day 1 of the School Holidays tomorrow!!! Wish me luck!!!

Today was my Cupcake class and we had a fab time. I want to thank all my 12 lovely ladies for coming and being such stars at making the projects in super quick time!!!!!
Here are some of the ladies in action!

Of course there had to be homemade cupcakes and I have made them to match in with the theme of the class!!!

And here is a selection of the completed boxes!

Special thanks go to Sarah B who helped with the construction of the box with some of the ladies on her table and also to my "mate down South" Jo who very kindly let me borrow her paper crimper! Thanks guys.
I am shattered now, off to watch a film with my boys in our PJ's!!!
Back tomorrow with Stamp with Us card

Teacher thank you and a Cupcake day!

On Thursday night at about 10pm I realised I hadn't made a card for the 2 teaching assistants in Evan's class!!!!! I literally threw these together in 10 minutes flat! Very basic, but to a non-cardmaker (like the recipients were) they are OK!!!
Fairly self explanatory as to what I used!!!!
And here is a first - A double arty farty angle!!!!

Anyway got to dash, I am just about to jump in the shower and get ready for my Cupcake day class today! We will be making the above! I baked 24 pink cupcakes last night so will be back with photos of the day later on today!!

Teacher Thank You gift

My little boy spends his last day in class with his beloved Miss Rogers tomorrow. He has really thrived whilst being in her class so it will be a sad day!
I have bought her another pressie to but I also decided to make her one!!!! I decorated this really chunky notebook with paper from the Sweet Always pack.

Letters cut from the Alphalicious Cricut cartridge and decorated with my favourite retro flowers.

Look at all that gorgeous ribbon, yum yum!!!

I hope she likes it!! I am not sure whether she will dare to take it into the staff room though!!!!

Got to go to Ross's swimming gala this morning!!! I am helping to do the scoring!!

Papertake Teacher Card

Ross's teachers leaves his school on Friday so I have made a card for her based on his school colours! I think it is the first time I have used Yo Yo Yellow!!!! I worked as a music teacher for 4 years and had to wear a bright yellow top so I think it has put me off yellow!!!!
Colour combo is Glorious Green and Yo Yo Yellow. I have stamped the Glorious Green with the Seeing spots stamp set in the same colours and then used my All in the Family set. Ross insisted I stamped 2 or 3 children rather than just him! I wonder if one of my readers who know the class can work them out!!!!
Sentiment is from the Sincere Salutations set which fits well inside the oval punches. The ribbon was Very vanilla but I coloured it with my Stampin Write markers to get the perfect match!!!

GOod old arty farty angle!!

Back tomorrow with a teacher present
